I'm going to have to warn you about using foul language in this forum. As for Sierra being alive, technically, it is, but only the name exists. Everything else about it is dead.

And why in heaven's name do you even care? They gave up adventure games anyway. No. Sorry. They Still "make adventure games. We made LSL Magna Cum Laudae OMG!!!!111one one". And other "cool" games.

Didn't Vivendi Universal take them over?

Sierra has died. Of the three infamous options (Restore Restart Quit), they could only choose the last one. Rest in Peace. :'(

Yes Vivendi Universal took over Sierra. As said before the name exists but since the closing of Yosemite Sierra is not the company anymore that it has been until the end of the 90s.
They still do really groundbreaking games such as:
 - Barbie™ Mermaid Adventure™
 - Barbie™ as The Princess and the Pauper
 - Barbie™ Beauty Boutique™
 - Barbie™ Fashion Show™ CD-ROM
 - Barbie™ Horse Adventures™ Mystery Ride™
 - Barbie™ of Swan Lake: The Enchanted Forest

But seriously also Half Life 2 has been published as a Sierra game. But in the end it became just a label for marketing reasons.

Sierra is a label nowadays. EE2? Sierra is mentioned. But let's face it. They're DEAD. They're a half dead hung man who's bleeding out of a hundred wounds.

I heard that Vivendi finally shut down the Sierra office in Bellevue, which would mean that Sierra no longer makes games and exists only in the fact that Vivendi owns the Sierra trademark and the rights to most of Sierra's games.

Here is what Wikipedia has to say:

Quote
"In June 2004, Vivendi reorganized the Vivendi Universal games group, distributing Sierra's work to other units and finally shutting down Sierra's Bellevue location in August. The Sierra brand lives on in name only."
