Uhhhh, that's what it's for dude. You drink, the alcohol loosens up your inhibitions, you don't feel so nervous talking to random people you don't know or care about, you drink some more, you collapse in the middle of the room, everyone laughs. That's what I go to house parties for, to laugh when my drunken friends can't walk in a straight line anymore.
I
stop
laughing when I have to carry them over to the van and drive everyone home, but hey it's all in a night's work.
Where I come from, someone who drinks alone is sad, and not to be trusted.

So you laugh when your friends puke their guts out all over your floor and you have to clean it up?

No, mostly because that's never happened. But this one time a friend got so plastered on his 18th that he covered the inside of the shower (because some other *helpful* friend diverted him away from the toilet) with this evil-looking orange upchuck.
Yeah we laughed then, and every time we tell that story again, we laugh some more.
I've got some of the awesomest drinking stories.

This is why in America, you're only SUPPOSED to drink when you're 21. Of course, that doesn't stop anyone..

I'm 23, and the only reason you guys don't have the same rampant drunkeness on your 21sts is because your beer is shall we say, somewhat lacking. So's your coffee while we're on the subject.
And while I'm here I'd like to clear up a quick misconception about Australians. Contrary to the international add campaign the company is running, we do not actually drink Fosters. No-where in Australia are you ever going to find someone walk into a pub and say to the bartender "Hey mate, can you go out the back, find a stray cat and squeeze it's urine into a glass and charge me $4.50 for it".

Well, don't think that all Americans drink Budweiser or Miller.
I usually go to this bar up the street called Capital Ale House and there's a much better assortment of brews there. Draughts, IPA's, Pale Ales, Pumpkin Ales, Pils, etc. I, as an American, would be ashamed of myself if I saw my bestfriend pass up a pint of a hearty stoudt for a longneck of Coors Light.

The easier solution to all this is, obviously, just not to drink.
Wow, what a noble idea =P

Hmm... I thought that was because Australia actually has much larger drunken redneck influence than even America.
After hearing various things from various folks about various beers in various contries, I have come to the tenative conclusion that most of heavily advertised cheap beers (Miller, Coors, Molson, Fosters, etc) suck, no matter which country they're from.
I remember hearing about how great cheap domestic Canadian beer especially when compared to cheap American Beer. Guess what? They were just as bad, if not worse.
