Back to the Valhalla idea....
-How about depending each god you choose to serve (Thor, Odin, Loki, etc) and they each give you a different quest to complete (perhaps interfering with he others).
-However, this adds a lot more programming and work, unless implemented right...

(I don't know much about Norse Mythology, but I think if you choose to serve Loki or other 'evil' gods, you basically get a death message)

What would the natives town look like? More like a village or maybe a civilised city.
I think that if it were to be a city it could look like aztec structures? Maybe a hero would have to go ther to stop the war between the aztec-looking people and new villigers that are occupying their lands (and don't know it/dont have anywhere to go)?
