Indeed, a few existed... at my school. I was more on the lookout for the wily and elusive gamer girl... but alas, none really did exist in my enormous high school. I guess that's what I get for the dubious "pleasure" of going to one in a rich, highly conservative neighborhood.

But... the hallway... that's the meeting grounds for all Teens... You don't sally forth with your herald in a classroom... You designate someone's locker! And you and your lackeys go forth, carrying your banner... the other arrives with his banner carrier and squire... and you converse. That is the way of things, since the dayes of olde

As in, the girl who has more guy friends than girl friends, plays video games obsessively, reads LotR instead of eating lunch, and waves new Nintendo Power issues at people?

I remember that girl!
I think she got locked in a closet somewhere... She used to foam at the mouth. And it wasn't always nintendo power... a lot of the time it was, like... old newspapers. Or a stick.

Never met her, but she sounds like she might have been appealing.

More like, everyone had crushes on the popular kids. The nerds were shunned.

Not always-- Okay, yea. THe period of enlightment doesn't happen till about grade 10. The popularity becomes less of an issue except for the very popular duo, who always want to be 'prettier than the other girl'.
