Blackguards are really past the point of Villains. Villains are mostly guys who want to rule for themselves. Blackguards want to END the planet, or just being extreme destruction.

that sounds like an interesting Idea for a plot, to maneuver that kind of person into being a hero, or at least have all his actions ending in good results. kind of like saving the day by destroying the world.
