Yes, the Speech Pack announcement is an April Fools joke by the Hero6 team. We just wanted to produce something silly that would make people laugh, and decided that recording a bunch of lines from scrapped and placeholder dialogues by scrapped characters was the way to go. We hope you enjoyed listening to them as much as we had recording them.

In case you didn't get to hear the speech pack, click here.

Fun while it lasted. cheesy

My first attempt at Pierre was an Irish-french accent, but then Ianfe thought I should go all the way French.

And whoever can point out where Glacianna's voice came from WINS TEH COOKIE!

Collette.mp3 is the result of recording my lines with a Singlish accent while eating grapes. A deadly combination.  Tongue

I gave Merry the Merry Elf an "Ah Beng"-like voice despite the character using American slang as I felt it would make the character more "interesting". ("Ah Beng" is Hokkien for gangster).

The last one, Deirdre.mp3, was how I had imagined a worm from Worms 2 would sound if it sang "I am a Small Part of the World".

Didn't notice the Singlish with Dierdre though, was it just the tone of voice used or is Swift capable of speaking without a Singlish accent?

I would think that I'm capable of speaking without a Singlish accent, like what I did with the pixie from Hero of Infamous Kingdoms.

Interesting. I always thought that a person has great difficutly reducing their accent if English isn't their primary language as a child.

Hello! I did the voices for Rasim Ilna and the Bum. Apologies for the fuzzy quality- my mike sucks. I came up with the idea of making Rasim a flirty queen because, well, it seemed a funny thing for an Evil Vizier-type character to do. As for the Bum, I was aiming for Upper-Crust Aristocrat but I'm afraid it came off as a little bland by comparison. Oh well. Hope y'all enjoy it anyway!  Tongue

Ah, Lazygamer... you and I should talk sometime. Most people from English-speaking countries can't tell English is not my primary language.

Yes, Ianfe, however you have visited English-speaking countries a LOT and at a fairly young age. I know old people who've lived here for decades and still have the accent of where they're from originally.

I still think Hero6 should do a speech pack after the game is done.

Like all countries where English is the primary language of the population you can see a real difference in the thickness of the accent based on the individual's level of education. This can even frequently be coupled with the mean education level of the area they grew up in. I'm an Australian, but because I grew up in Canberra, the city of public servants, my accent is about as far away from the Outback 'Okka' accent or that of the Corcodile hunter as you can get.

It's also funny how it's frequently the accent(s) of the lesser educated population that is seen as the 'classic' accent. Like the Texan drawl, the previously mentioned Australian 'Okka' accent and even Singlish.

Having heard Swift speak face-to-face, I can tell you she doesn't sound remotely like she does in the speechpack. She still has an asian accent (we all have some kind of accent), but she speaks clearly, albeit very softly.

Perseus: Were you the one who came up with the line "I'd like to do the impossible to you"? Because that's f@cking fantastic, I am so using that line.
