Strewth!  I can't believe that I'm the only person who initally played HQ before any other game in the series!  huh
Pardon the suddenness...
I played it first, too!  I've played all of them (meaning all *3* versions of QfG1)...

...except for QfG5, and a friend of mine is going to hook me up with that too!

Incidentally, I'm not a very good gamer, as the first time I ever beat any of them (the first one) was a couple of weeks ago, and I haven't beaten any since either.  I've been playing since I was 5!

Really, if you look at it very very technically, there's 4 versions..
Hero's Quest (original)
Quest for Glory (changed name)
Quest for Glory VGA (the remake)
Quest for Glory 1 (the release with the collection)

(New member in the area)

I am a D&D fan and I was a huge Paladin supporter. When I heard this game featured a Paladin as a character, I persuaded a friend of mine to loan me his disks.I played it as a Fighter because I found no Paladin( and despite my poor English I made it through .  Though I thinked the Paladin becoming to be a visible quest, I managed to become one in QFG3 just a year ago)  . But I fell in love with the game and when the Anthology came out(in Greece I mean) some years back( 4 or 5 years back) I played all of them( and enjoyed them better since my English had improved quite a bit). I think though that the best one is 2.
