My manner, quite effete, is mistaken on the street
For a sailor who can pirouette on cue.
Well, despite your point of view, I can thrill a girl or two...
But I’d rather get it on with you! HA-HA-HA!
*does a little jig*

Hehehe... well, I'm an opera singer (tenor, singing with Opera Colorado)... if you need any sung parts, I'm your man. If not... well, I flee!

*does so*

See? :)
Oooooo....sea shanties would be fun for Hero7's Norse Village!!!!
So the Norse culture was a wee bit too early for shanties, but nothin' like a good pirate song to wake ya in the morn!!!  ARGH!!!!

Examples: http://shanty.rendance.org/index.php

And welcome to the forums!
You know... now ye tempt me! Wouldn't you think it'd be a rather good thing to sing "The Clean Song" as done by the Corsairs? LOL, I can just see a group of old sea-wolves breaking out into it...

And if you don't know about it, please tell me so I can enlighten you ;)

Alright, you asked for it Wink

Imagine two sailors singing, one singing right over the other. It's a bit bawdy, but it manages to be picaresque without being vulgar.  Of course, my perceptions of it may be different than the forum admins, and if they find this content objectionable I understand if it can be censored.

Imagine a dockside scene, two sailors singing, bewildering the hero.

Sailor 1:There was a young sailor
Who looked through the glass,
And spied a fair mermaid
With scales on her--

Sailor 2: island
Where seagulls
Fly over their nests
She combed the long hair
That hung over her

Sailor 1:-- shoulders
And caused her
To tickle and itch.
The sailor cried out
"There's a beautiful

Sailor 2: --mermaid,"
A-sitting out
There on the rocks,
The crew came around
A-grabbing their--

Sailor 1: glasses
And crowded four deep
To the rail,
All eager to share
In this fine piece of

Sailor 2:--- news,
Which the captain soon
Heard from the watch.
He tied down the wheel
And he reached for his

Sailor 1:--- crackers
And cheese which
He kept near the door.
In case he might someday
Encounter a

Sailor 2:---mermaid.
He knew he must
Use all his wits
Crying "Throw out a line.
We'll lasso her

Sailor 1:--- flippers."
And then we will
Certainly find
If mermaids are better
Before or be--

Sailor 2: brave
My good fellows."
The captain then said.
"With fortune we'll break
Through her mermaiden head-

Sailor 1:-ing to starboard
They tacked with dispatch.
And caught that fair mermaid
Just under her--

Sailor 2: elbows
And hustled her
Down below decks,
And each took a turn
At her feminine

Sailor 1: setting
Her free at the end
Of the farce,
She splashed in the waves,
Falling flat on her

Sailor 2: after
A while one man
Noticed some scabs,
Soon they broke out with the

Sailor 1: pox
And the scratching
With fury,
Cursing with spleen,
This song may be dull

Sailor 1 & 2: But it's certainly clean!

"A sailing round the coast of high Barbary"

Nothing like a good ol' pirate tune...I'm laughing because we did this back in my old high school chamber choir...as for voice audtions come on, who wouldnt want to give it a try?    If 2-bit actors can get voice parts in professionally produced video games and yet still butcher their lines, what's the big deal about an amatuer doing it?  On that note give me a line (the goofier the better, in line with the whole feel of the QFG series :-P), and I'd do my best to ham it up.  Or not, but still I gotta say that it's nice to see a good community of people ressurecting a concept that some suit decided was dead.  I remember playing QFG 1 on my 286, and being awed by it.  It's a shame that so few games I've played between now and then have given me anything near to that visceral reaction of sheer joy.  Anyway enough ranting, but yes, of course I'd lay down a fast voice track for the good of the people ; as I've already said, who wouldn't?

P.S.  Oh, and great innuendo in that song.  I found myself humming it in my head to get the pace of the joke :-P

The problem with it is that it stops really stringing together after a few verses.

Well as dead as this topic seems I'd like to add some input. I am from sunny South Africa so if by any chance someone from 'South Fricana' (check the qfg3 guide) happens to be in the game, I'm your man. I can also do a handful of accents and have a good sound card etc so quality would not be too shabby either.

If you're gonna do a speech pack do it right - please. There's nothing worse than lame voices in an otherwise good game, they detract from the overall atmosphere and just lead to people turning them off.

Thanks for your offer. If we ever include voices in the game, we will get good voice talents. Already I know of quite a number of people who can voice act in the adventure community, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem if we do go with the idea.

Definitely. It would be fun to try out, even if I didn't get the part.

Remember. Do it like QFG4 did it, not five.

Was wondering if I could get an e-mail to Saffiru111@hotmail.com if there was auditions.  Yes I am willing to audition, but I would like to have the theme as well as the text when auditioning.
Thanks,

More than likely, it won't be for a while. The game itself is still in its semi-final stage of production, I think. And the voice pack, if there is one, probably won't be put together until after the game's initial release. As cool as it sounds, I'll need to sit on my hands for a while before I can audition.
