I just want to say Thank You to all the fans of KQIX who supported the team. The news is official. Vivendi is going to allow the game to continue in development! This is a wonderful victory for the KQIX team and the fans. More information can be found at www.kqix.org. Also, if you contacted Vivendi to ask them to continue development of the game, please contact them and thank them. You can reach them at games.comments@vugames.com.

Thanks!

I wasn't here at the time, so in actuality you told me nothing!! Seriously though, that's good for the King's Quest IX team.

What wonderful news! I never expected KQ9 to see the light of day. What's really suprising is that somehow, a relatively small(?) amount of people managed to convince a large corporation to change it's mind just by asking. Thanks to everyone who wrote those letters!

This is mcomp72 of the Save King's Quest IX campaign.  I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you that supported the cause.  We wouldn't have been successful without you.

To those of you that posted pessimistic things about our campaign (Corsair5, for instance), I hope you will learn from this that if people rally together to fight for something they believe in, they do have a chance at being successful.  Remember, if you believe you cannot accomplish something, and don't bother trying, then you won't accomplish anything.  It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.  But if you believe that you CAN accomplish something, and you TRY, you just might have success.

I hope everyone takes that to heart.

Thanks again to all who supported the cause.  Long live King's Quest!

I apologize.  Well done.  And thank goodness that it's Vivendi and not like... EA or Activision.

I stand corrected. Congratulations.

And, in my defense, I'm more used to dealing with more totalitarian companies. VU must not be the slimy slimebags I thought they were.

And I wasn't the only naysayer, so stuff it.

Well, if there were a good time to say "I told you so", this is the time.  I was a bit of a naysayer too, so I stand corrected...

Tho I still wonder what exactly caused VU to change their mind.

Maybe they saw what Corsair said about them and hate him and wanted to spite him.

...

WHAT? It could happen?

Well, the Silver Lining team believes it was the fans who had convinced VU. Here's Say's quote in the MTV article.

Quote
"Eventually what got them to talk to us was the fan community," Salazar said.

And more from her post in the forums.

Quote
3.- We got truly lucky they were open minded even after the C&D letter, and we're even more lucky to have such great fans who DID help on this situation, and push them to realize that maybe there is more than what they thought there was.
