It might not be a great idea, but it's not a bad one either(and easy to do, if you want a basic one).

Hi, we used to have a chat room some where around here, so I'm not quite sure what happened to it (it may have been lost in the site upgrade).
However, even when we did have the chat room, most members didn't use it, and chose to chat with one another through MSN, ICQ, etc.

I went in the old chat, after it was dead. All that was left was some babe who I smacked with a random fish since she didn't answer my question. What was the question, you ask? "WEN WIL HERO6 BEE OWT?"
Now that I think of it...nobody ever answered me when I asked them that. They just gave me a loony stare....

anyway where is this so called 'chat room' if I knew where it was id be there now I do remember an old chat room on mirc I think from way back when, could be wrong tho....

I've configured Gaim, and now when I'm online, I'll be logged into the chatroom(and probably talking to myself
