LOL, have you been too many forums where this stuff was discussed Pwincess?  They were possitively tame and enlightening here compared to almost any other forum, I'm sorry you saw them as overly harsh.  And yes, though there were some extremely obtuse viewpoints expressed, that is a given for any discussion that involves religion, politics, and philosophy.

No, forum discussions can be limited by others creativity.  There's not much sense in making intellegent discussions when they get turned into pages of *action* posts.

I was just commenting about the posting on these topics in the old Hero6 visitors forum.

I'm hoping to change that. Tons of one-liner action posts tends to be rather boring here, and would fit a chat environment better.

By getting them to enter the chatroom more often on non-RP days. Maybe they'll find it more enjoyable to have their battles there.

Second idea is to impose some rules on what not to post, and make it clear that posts consisting of only action lines will be deleted.

I'm open to suggestions.

I'm sorry, however I do not supporting implementing rules like that.  This forum is supposed to be fun and enjoyable, so if people want to post action posts, then they should be able to.  After all, just because I don't support posts on religion, politics, and theology, that does not mean that I'll delete people's posts on these topics.

Throwing up ideas? That sounds difficult, not to mention painful.

We do it all the time here, especially when it comes to studying for exams. Cram everything, then regugitate everthing you crammed while taking the paper. Works wonders, I tell you.

But what about us poor little ones who have to make 2000+ posts to get up there? How will we ever make it if we're forced to regulate all the spamming to Chat? Sad

You don't have to resort to spamming the forums in order to make 2000+ posts. Look at Brassfire, for instance. She's the top poster here, and most of her posts are meaningful posts, rather than oneliner action posts. Some amount of off-topicness is ok in this forum, but at this moment, nearly every topic seems to be nothing but RP fights, and that can be a turn off to some of the other folks coming here for meaningful discussions. If you want to try and up your post count, you can start discussions like "What's your favourite game?", "What do you think of such and such" or even create polls to find out other people's preference.

No, I didn't. Brassfire did.

Also, this being the off-topic forum doesn't mean that every single topic becomes an 'RP battle' topic. Plus, take a look at the topics in the other forum sections. Topics in the 'Official Hero6 News', 'Hero6 Discussion' and 'Future Hero6 developments' started becoming 'RP Battle' topics too, and 'Hero6 Discussion' is suppose to be an 'On-topic' forum.
