Title: Prison
Post by: Corsair5 on May 28, 2005, 06:59:22 AM
It would be a neat idea for H7 if the thief could screw up or get set up, and get sent to prison. Then he has to figure out a way to escape before Otto comes and ties him up with his knees touching his back and his face touching his knees.

This sounds quite similar to the prison escape in Rasier, but I suppose it can be done for just the thief.

Yeah, except that the prison escape in Rasier was just getting out of the cell, you didn't have to even try to get your equipment and then get out of the rest of the prison.

Something like the prison break in Thief 3: Deadly shadows would be cool. First figure out a way out of the cell, then get to your equipment, no longer conveniently located outside your cell. Then skulk through the shadows, head towards the exit. And if anyone sees you, thy could sound the alarm, or something?

Am I getting too pretentious?

I like the idea. why not make the prison sentence a mandatory experience.

Because fighters are too heavy handed and Wizards are too frail.

And, of course, Paladin's wouldn't be sent to prison.

As an optional bonus, give the thief the opportunity to steal some stuff from the prison, as well as getting back the swag he was caught stealing.

well.... to be fair, a paladin CAN be sent to prison. Remember, Pallies do what's RIGHT, not what's lawful.

 ;)

Yeah, maybe there's an evil King or something that doesn't like Paladins. So he tosses them in prison then hangs them by their entrails.

Exactly. There you go!

what a pleasant thought. I meant mandatory for the theif. maybe someone asks the theif to steal the wrong item, or break into the wrong house, and he ends up in prison for it.

Thieves get executed by having their legs chopped off, then they get the various chunks shoved down their throat until they choke to death.

Wow, I always thought they were "Quartered and Crossed"...

Sorry, but you're a little too young to be playing M rated games. :P

I disagree with the fact that "Fighters are too heavy handed and wizards are too frail"

To make this like a real QFG experience you need all four classes to be in prison.

Picture this: The Paladin has to wait till no one is in sight then break out of the prison cell and do their best to avoid killing anyone. Just get their stuff and get the ###### out.

The fighter can on the other hand be more violent: A guard comes near his cell and tries to poke him with a spear or somehting while laughjing and revealing his missing teeth (cliche). The fighter must catch the guard near his cell door, take his sword and slit his throat, then steal the keys and unlock the door, then hack his way through all foes, get his stuff and get the ###### out of here.

The Wizard can, of course cast open, then use hide spells, and some other ones to distract the guards, then get his stuff and get the ###### out of there. (A force bolt rickochet can work wonders, for instance)

EDIT...whoopsie...

I assure you that the ####'s are not f-words. They're actually h-words, which I had no idea were censored here. Sorry.  :P

Must things always end so violently? :paladin:

Pretty much...

I mean when peace has supporters like Michael Jackson...violence kinda...wins

I'd rather be a killer than a pedophile.

what exactly is a pedophile, and why do you prefer being a misanthrope to being one?

Pedophiles are people who molest little children. Happy now?

yes, that answer is quite satisfactory. I don't mind your point of veiw either.

Yeah it's a common mistake people make. Remember everyone, Conan was a thief.

And Corsair's just trying to sound cool with all the throat sliting and strangling people with their own intestines thing. He'll grow out of it eventually.

Meh, it takes too long to cut someone's throat with a sword. Too long, y'see. It's better to just do the job and cut his head clean off. Or stab him in the heart.

Post by: Jigen on September 15, 2005, 12:31:33 AM
No it's generally faster just to make one shallow cut to the throat, when you're standing behind them and reaching through the bars of the cage, and it's better to do it with the guard's dagger than his sword, otherwise while you're diking around with the sword the guard draws said dagger and stabs you with it.

And for the record, more evil b@stards advocate violence than peace, and I'd rather be John Lennon any day.

Evil Non-legitimate children don't always want violence. Most Tyrants want to peacefully tyrannize their kingdoms, with no wars or uprisings or anything, so they can rake in profits.

Yes, but it is either the application of violence, or the threat of it that keeps them in check. We have had this conversation before.
