Title: New Forums
Post by: Brassfire on September 03, 2004, 06:06:25 PM
The new forums use invision power board, which is MUCH nicer than YaBB. I'm also working on a new visitors site, that'll happen very soon.

Right now I'm working on converting the member profiles with the help of PHattiE. Unfortunately the passwords were not able to be converted so you'll have to request a new password as if you've forgotten it.

CORRECTION: Your passwords should work... if not, just request a new one through the "forgot password" link at login.[/size]
Post counts were also preserved!

Hope you like invision as much as I do. ;)

Why should I be logged in, Jafar? I do not need the post count. I have now humbled myself after the realization that I have earned the status of Super Hero by means besides posting rapid fire, and thus, I can take great pride in the fact that I will eventually become a Famous Adventurer. One cannot deny that I have a greater postcount than many other members, but that is not what truely matters.

What truely matters is that my creativity shall ever be the influence of all posts that I make. So... Goodbye, YaBB, and hello... uhm... This one. Inversicion. Whatever. Long may it live and reign!

I was just wondering since that was the first post you made at the new boards and I wondered if you were having problems with your account.

I can't believe how long this project has been going on.... it must be like 4 or 5 years now, I remember when it first started, I was so excited, but alas, I'm sure now that it will never be completed... total completion progress right now is 35%, so if they maintain the project's current pace, it should be done around 2020 or so eh. Hope I still remember it then.

I believe that figure is not an accurate measurement of the current progress. A lot goes on behind the scenes from what I heard, so it's possible that they could be progressing rather well. Be patient. This was the very first fan game project and understandably, there were some obstacles to overcome, hence the long delay. I'm more hopeful that it'll be released in the next few years.

Swift is quite right.  The progress meter hasn't been updated recently because there are too many factors that need to be accounted for in the calculation.  :)

If I'm right, the progress bar hasen't been updated since January of 2003. Unless the team has been goofing off since then, Not likely, I doubt that 35% is how much they've done.

Didn't they have to stop everything for while, in order to finalise the plot. Instead of other departments working on stuff that might not appear or be changed later I think I read that somewhere on the old boards.

In any case it's going to be a great game even if it takes ten years, besides most commercial games have a several year devolopment cycle anyway. At least most good ones do, you just don't hear about it untill it's in the final stages of devolopment.

Besides in 10 years, and Im sure it won't take any where near that long I should reach hero status.

......
*a little ramble you probably should just ignore what follows*

*in ten years at my current post rate of 0.1 posts a day would give me 365 posts
*not counting my current posts, in 12 years assuming that 2 leap years occure in
*the next 12 not counting the current leap year would give me 438 and add my
*current post count of 62 would make 500 posts, so in exactly 12 years from now
*on this day I'll be a hero both on the forums and in hero6. So see you in 2016 for
*my heroism

Sorry about that got to much spare time at the moment if it's off topic or what ever I'll delete it.
......

I like the new forums btw.
