Title: Hero6 Paladin
Post by: ndcent168 on January 23, 2005, 11:30:11 PM
Can a hero actually become a Paladin in Hero6? As we are starting a new hero, they cannot be a Paladin to begin with, so at some point, they must have the opportunity to become a Paladin. I haven't played QG2 for a while, so I forget the criteria to become one.

Not really. After all, in QfG, you could only become a Paladin at the very end of 2. In QfG1, there wasn't even a mention of Paladins.

The word Paladin is actually mentioned once in the QFG1 manual somewhere.

Manuals don't count.

Since when?  They're still part of the game experience.

Not according to the "CORSAIRS COMPLETE GUIDE TO GAMES" and it's all in my head, so you can't quote chapter and page of it. I know it all, because I wrote it, and the only copy is within my brain.

I think I need to remind you guys to keep this on-topic.

Again.

Yes, Ma'am.

If memory serves there was a way to become a Paladin earlier on in the game.  Then you get to complete several paladin only quests (or was it paladin methods for completing quests) either way I'm pretty certain it's in the game.

And yes, manuals do count

No. It was impossible to play a Paladin before QFG3. You COULD become a Paladin at the end ceremony in QfG2, and at the end of the Challenge thingie in QfG3, or you could import in and choose to be a Paladin.

I know it's confusing, but Jigen was referring to Hero6, not QFG.

No, he's just a visitor like you, but he learnt of this through a forum discussion made on Hero6 Paladins a few years ago.

Nobody said that you have to look for it Striker... Swift is going to search for it later on tonight

I'm more concerned about information being leaked from the member's forums than anything else.  I hope that this is not the case.

I assure thee it is not. I'm certain it was an ordinary discussion of what was going to be put into the game and how certain thingswere going to be structured.

Secondly: Why would I be talking about QFG? You've all played the games you all know how it works?

Thirdly: That's right folks I've been around for donkeys years, I've just been unactive for a year or so (maybe more). In fact the only person here I don't predate is Pwincess

Who was it that founded Hero6, anyway?

Quote from the FAQ:

How did Hero6 start and who started it?
Hero6 was born June 1st, 1999. It was Te'ja Laymind's idea to start the project. Te'ja is a very good programmer, and we thank him very much for starting Hero6.

PHattiE provided the original web page, in addition to his talents as an Artist, Programmer, and Writer. In fact, PHattiE is the one who wrote the main plot outline for Hero6.

Hope that helps  :D

Te'ja was working on some kind of QFG 3d project, last I heard... but that was quite a while ago.

And, also, who's to say that you wouldn't be accomplishing your Quest for Glory by becoming an evil, rampaging murderer? Bandits and Monsters would LAVISH Glory on you!

Yes, yes, but the people in the Dark Paladin thread seem to think of Dark Paladins as simply people in it for themselves! Until you have delved Dark Magicks and Evil Rituals as I have, YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY REALISE THE POWER OF THE DARKNESS!

I think the dark paladin stuff wouldn't do. Paladin = Honor. Just like in warcraft 3 story line, that a the hero was a paladin then he was corrupted into the dark side and he now is a Dark knight. Paladin's in D&D (If i recall well) always need to be praying. So the dark paladin will be praying to Ad Avis?

Title: Hero6 Paladin
Post by: Swift on March 17, 2005, 02:53:00 PM
Well, if there is going to be a dark paladin in the game, then it's unlikely that he'll be praying to Ad Avis or any of the QFG villains since Hero6's world is completely different from QFG's. It'll probably be some generic demon god, but I'm just guessing.
