Title: Help me remember the title of this game
Post by: Raito on December 10, 2005, 11:12:31 PM
Here goes, I vaguely remember having tried a demo of a game 7 to 10 years ago but soon forgot about it.

Well, the game was:

a) sci-fi and dealt with time travel

B) there was a robot I remembered but whose name I cannot recall

c) I think this game was published by Broderbund or some other company like Sierra?

I know these are very vague titles but I really can't recall anything.

Hey there Yuri, can you possibly remember how you viewed the game? Maybe first person or third person. Possibly an rpg, action, adventure, combination of the two? Was it for Dos or Windows?

I think it was first person? Oh, I don't recall.

Windows, most likely.

Oh wait... I remember the name now: journeyman . :P

Can't say that I've ever played the game or heard of it for that matter.  At least you remembered the name of it though.

I've played it.  It doesn't have any actual 3D elements, just 2D scenes.  I remember being entirely uninterested in the game from start to wherever I got in it cuz the main character reminded me of Nightman (http://www.blobulent.com:16080/nightman/Images/www.nightman.com.jpg), the world's worst superhero (next to Phantom 2040 and Aquaman).

Damn Reish, upon looking at that picture, I've got to say that's the cheesiest looking costume I've ever seen for a superhero.

Heh...I think that any superhero that dresses in spandex is not worth of the title.

Except for Wolverine.  ^_^

(And possibly female super-heros *shhh*...)

I couldn't find any game labeled Journey, only a series called The Journeyman Project. The game is a first person view, is Sci-Fi and deals with time traveling. Here is a link for Mobygames, maybe this is it?

So... who's left? Because almost all of them can be accused of that to one degree or another. Even the Punisher and most of the characters who wear jackets and coats have something skin-tight underneath.

Let me rephrase: any super-hero that ONLY wears non-protective tight clothing isn't worth it (except for female super-heroes).

I mean if *I* were a hero I'd wear lame protective clothing instead of "Teh Invincible spandex omg I'm wearing pajamas lol".

Stinger from X-Men (The Movie)

Wolverine: "Do we HAVE to wear these?"

Cyclops: "Would you prefer yellow spandex?"

OUCH! Score! Touche!

Oh I loved that game.
I liked the idea of having a "time travelers emergency kit" placed in some random spot in the dinosaur days to minimize tampering.

Don't forget to bring a towel! (hah! two references at once: South Park AND Hitchhiker's Guide!)

Glad to know that was indeed the game you were looking for. Good luck in finding it if you do not already have it.

Alright, now I have a real challenge for you.  There's this weird game, I think it's a kid's game, that I used to play on the Commodore 128 (I think you can either consider it T128, C128 or C64 if they're abbreviated -- not typos).  Anyway, I have an actual screenshot of the game, and it's labelled as ALF, but what I'm looking for a couple things...

1. ANY information about it.
2. Confirmation about its name.

We sold all our Commodore 64 stuff about six years ago, and I kinda miss that game.  Here's the screenshot:

Are you messing with me here?? First, you say C128 and then C64. They're two completely different systems! Well, maybe not that different, but it's like comparing Nintendo to Super Nintendo. Anyways, I have found out that it is indeed a game for the Commodore 64. I am still trying to find information on it.

YES!! HAHA! THANK YOU! ^_^

And.. we had a Commodore 128.  All you did to play C64 games on it was type GO64, and it'd ask "Are you sure?" and you'd say Y and it'd go from green to blue lol.  So no, they aren't that different =P I'm just used to using the two terms interchangeably.

But again, THANK YOU!!!!

EDIT: Wow, 1984.  The game is a year older than I am.

Not a problem at all Reish, glad to be of service. When you had first said ALF, I started to think maybe it had to do with the TV show in the late 80s and then I saw the screen you posted.
