Title: Question
Post by: Warman on August 20, 2005, 02:17:40 PM
hey all,

No Offense,Really,  when are you guys going to be done with this game? over 6- 6 1/2 years and still not done yet. well I know you guys work in your FREE time and stuff, and you don't get pay and stuff, but if you get done with this game.  how long with Hero 7 takes? 6 or 7,mabye 8 years aslo? if it took this long just to finish up Hero 6, heck, you guys still aren't done, how long with Hero 7 take if you decice to make it? if alot of the people who made Hero 6 stay, it might only take 3 or so years cuz you guys would have the exp from Hero 6 game to work out the bugs and crap and it won't be new to you anymore. but even still. I though hope you get done so I and everyone esle can play it  :blackguard:  :fighter:  :paladin:  :thief:
but just think about it. :royal:

As I understand it, the game is *theoretically* done. But they still need to chiesel it a bit. Work out bugs, give it a little finesse.

ok. some people told me it wasn't 100% done, some people like you SIlver, told me they have to work out bugs.so I didn't know if you have to work out bugs or if it wasn't done yet. so ok good. thanks. btw, you guys got a release date? if not, take a guess.

Well, the fact that they still have to work out bugs means that it's not 100% ready yet. As for a release date...I don't think they'll disclose it. Yet.

They're like AGDI. Lips are sealed.

Most fanprojects don't have a release date. (Or if they do, it's very vague) I can see why though. It ends up being a choice between delaying the game and disappointing lots of people, or releasing it too early with more bugs then there should be.

Like KotOR 2.

Frankly, I think this game will be better than any other simply because there are no big corporations out for money. Just people wanting to make a good game.

Hero7 is a HUGE maybe, and even if they do decide to do it, odds are it won't be out til at least '09.

If they won't someone else will, I'm sure of it.

Wasn't there a fairly recent Q/A where most of Warman's questions were answered. Maybe we should find that and set it up as an FAQ?

hey,

but hey, being done in'09  is better then waiting 6+ years like Hero 6 since you guys got Exp now. yeah, I [robably could not apply for Hero 7, since I'm not the most popluar guy around if you look at a few threads back on this part of the fourm, you see why lol.  but my brother probably could.

It could indeed take another few years. Bet anyone?

Hero6 is definitely getting cooler. I myself will try to make sure of that.
And as SilverBolt rightly pointed out, there are bugs. MANY bugs with every testdemo released to us. A game with the complexity of Hero6 has a infinite capacity for glitches just like with AGDI right now.

You'll love it when you get it. Why? Because we want it to be good! And we will wait as long as it takes to make it good!

Down to our teams new found experience, I do believe that Hero7 will not take as long as Hero6 is.

You've got to remember something. These guys are amateurs. No offense to the team, but they aren't professionals. We don't have the numbers, experience, technology, and most importantly, SALARY of what Bethesda, Sierra (Had), Valve, Bioware, or LucasArts have.

Not to mention the time needed.

They have yet another advantage. Yea, verily, they have discovered the true secret to making games.

perhaps, and he is close to the truth, but pocket lint is much better.  It isn't as bitter or chewy

New to the site, veteran of the series.  I just want to say I could wait another 6 years if its going to be good, considering I wasn't expecting anything but 'the good ole days' boards.  I expect any fan of the game partaking in continuing one of the best stories in gaming history isn't going to make a crap game.  Plus I agree with others when they say the team is focusing on making it a good game, and not a game that sells.  Those games I truly miss.
Now the ignorant noob is shutting up. But before he does.
Good luck and we're all excited about what the team can pull off.
