Title: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: Alliance on April 30, 2005, 01:53:28 PM Okay, some of you already know this, but just to let everyone know, I'm doing a VGA remake of Peasant's Quest. The original Peasant's Quest was a huge hit some 8 or 9 months ago, so I figured someone might as well do a remake, and that someone should be me.
Here's some screenies: (http://www.freewebs.com/dogmadaygames/Screenshot3.PNG) Rather Dashing's burninated hut. (http://www.freewebs.com/dogmadaygames/RDrevengecutscene.PNG) Rather Dashing swearing revenge. (http://www.freewebs.com/dogmadaygames/Screenshot2.PNG) The road to Trogdor. (http://www.freewebs.com/dogmadaygames/Screenshot5.PNG) This also sports a new kind of interface. It's pretty much the same as any KQ one, except it's a custom design, and also there's screenshots in the save games, as well as a bow and arrow interface. Our site is at www.freewebs.com/dogmadaygames (http://www.freewebs.com/dogmadaygames) We're currently looking for team members, such as more background artists, dialogue portait artists, puzzle artists, and musicians, as well as someone who can make forums. The release date is scheduled for late September 2005. Cheers! Alliance Title: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: Brassfire on April 30, 2005, 11:02:36 PM THROW BABY!
I'm not sure freewebs supports forums, though. Are you going to have a parser interface or all mouse-driven? Title: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: Alliance on April 30, 2005, 11:19:13 PM Both.
Title: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: Brassfire on May 05, 2005, 09:24:39 PM Awesomeness. If you need musicians I know a couple of people who work well. Depends on whether you're looking for midis or ogg/mp3 files for the final music though.
Title: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: Alliance on May 06, 2005, 09:27:04 PM Okay, awesome.
Title: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: quietcorn on September 28, 2005, 05:11:46 PM err... do the homestar runner people know about this project?
I'd ask em... Just in case. Title: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: Swift on September 28, 2005, 06:22:37 PM He's been asked that question many times before. I can't recall if he did ask for permission. Anyway, it's a dead project now, since he'd abandoned it some time ago, so it doesn't matter anymore.
Title: Re: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: Alliance on June 11, 2006, 01:52:08 AM Ah, yes.
Actually, I did give up on this project...BUT... I've been working on a new game for the past year...something original...something way different. And it's expected to come out April 1st, 2007 (Not PQVGA, my other game) Title: Re: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: Corsair5 on June 13, 2006, 11:56:31 AM Releasing a release date before you release the name of this soon to be released game? That's a peculiar approach.
Title: Re: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: Alliance on June 13, 2006, 11:55:40 PM Lol, it's just my bizzare way of thinking.
Title: Re: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: theRedPress on April 20, 2007, 08:33:53 AM *looks at the date* you're late dude :/ Was the new game abandoned (can't be SP3 since it's original?)...or is it DumbQuest? And what's this about PQVGA? Was it you that I showed the PQL screen to? I can't remember.
You should concentrate on one game at a time. I usually do two at most - and at most that's concept art for one, full development on another. It's nice to take a break from your work and have a little fun on another game idea, but stay focused on the goal. Title: Re: Peasant's Quest VGA Post by: typeget on April 23, 2010, 05:20:35 AM Well the good old days are back! Apparently there’s an adventure game engine available free to anyone, and people have been making free remakes of the classics, complete with voice packs and really respectable presentation. Now, I didn’t want to be disappointed by the realization that my old favorites weren’t as great as I remember, so I kicked off the nostalgia tour with some games I have no nostalgia for because I never played them, the first two in the King’s Quest series.
