Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Swift on September 12, 2004, 02:40:17 AM Yay! I'm the first to vote!
I voted for "Misunderstood". She's not that bad a villain as she has helped the hero on occasion. In folk tales, she's also done good deeds before for others. Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Jafar on September 12, 2004, 04:27:34 AM I think that deep down inside, all she wanted was a chef to make her some snacks.
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Pwincess on September 12, 2004, 05:08:10 AM Lol!
I completely agree with both of you Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Kailkay on September 12, 2004, 06:08:43 AM She is the purest of evils.
Who would eat frog?! The French, that's who! And the French are so obviously evil it hurts. therefore: Frogeaters=French French=Evil Frogeaters>Evil Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Swift on September 12, 2004, 06:39:42 AM Could we steer clear of ethnocentric jokes please?
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Jafar on September 12, 2004, 07:06:17 AM You can't hate someone for their eating habits. Do you think Baba Yaga would eat the food from Gnome Ann's Land Inn?
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Pwincess on September 12, 2004, 12:07:50 PM My little brother said that he would like to vote for 'pure evil' :D
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Kailkay on September 13, 2004, 04:49:53 AM Sorry about the mean-speek. Won't happen again.
But they say all Kirbies are frog eaters-- Ooops, sorry. But then again, is there anything a Kirby won't eat??? Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Jafar on September 13, 2004, 04:52:47 AM Believe it or not, there are some things that a Kirby won't eat. I'm not telling though. Its a secret.
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Kailkay on September 13, 2004, 04:59:36 AM Other Kirbies, maybe?
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Jafar on September 13, 2004, 05:01:12 AM Well, thats pretty obvious. Other things are secrets though.

Victory is mine! :D Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Jafar on September 13, 2004, 05:30:52 AM Darn. I need to learn more insults. Anyway, Baba Yaga is nothing but a kindly old lady living in a mutant hut surrounded by a fence of piked heads. Nothing evil about that.
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Pwincess on September 13, 2004, 05:31:19 AM You guys have played WAY too much Monkey Island :P
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Jafar on September 13, 2004, 05:32:21 AM Don't look at me, I just started. Sort of...

Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Kailkay on September 14, 2004, 02:55:46 AM And woe shall become man,
When hideous beings Shall walk the earth, Devoid of all feelings. They shall walk And sunder the rich, Bend the poor, Sing off pitch of times gone passed, when gods were cursed, And all the devils were reimbursed for countless sins they brought upon the people whom would take up song, and later banish them from here. And I tell you all of this my dear to tell you ne'er trust the witch that lives in hut with roof of thatch and rests high up, upon the legs of foul fowls cursed by figs to serve her evermore. Ne'er get ye the shining gem don't speak the rhyme, Don't face the femme who'll turn ye in no time t'form of frog and henceforth found, from lands of bog, and without sound, devour you swift and sure as salt, her spirits lift with this assault. Don't barter with the Ogress Far fouler than the foulest Naga, For she will gladly confess, She's the vile Baba Yaga. *pant pant* And that's why she's pure evil. :D Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Swift on September 14, 2004, 06:32:33 AM Did you write that yourself, or quote it from somewhere?
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Jafar on September 14, 2004, 06:38:08 AM I think he wrote it himself.
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Kailkay on September 14, 2004, 11:57:47 PM I wrote that all by myself.
Mommy wow! I'm a big kid now! Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Swift on September 15, 2004, 02:53:34 AM The poem's nice, but I'm sure you know that can't count as evidence that Baba Yaga is pure evil, since it's made up rather than a quote from any of the folk tales. It's like me claiming that Superman is evil just because I wrote a poem saying that he is.
Quote Mommy wow! I'm a big kid now! Ermm... don't you have anything better to quote than a Huggies diaper quote? Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Jafar on September 15, 2004, 02:58:55 AM Quote Ermm... don't you have anything better to quote than a Huggies diaper quote? When you put it that way, it sounds weirder then it really is. Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Kailkay on September 15, 2004, 05:30:12 AM No, you're wrong, no, yes, no and no.
You see... Baba Yaga is pure evil. Why else would she have *human* skulls all around her yard? And poisoned spears for a fence? Why *else* would she curse the baron? And, uhm... recruit the goblins? Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Swift on September 15, 2004, 05:43:38 AM The skulls and fence are probably there to tell visitors that she doesn't like being disturbed? Kinda like a "Do Not Disturb" sign, but more effective.
As for why she cursed the baron, well wasn't she offended by something he did and wanted to get even? That's not necessarily a bad thing. And you have no proof that she recruited those goblins. I prefer to think of Baba Yaga as a character who's somewhere inbetween the good and evil camp. Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Jafar on September 15, 2004, 05:46:00 AM The Baron wanted to kick her out of Spielburg. You know, maybe thats how she ended up the way she is now...
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Kailkay on September 15, 2004, 06:05:56 AM No no no, that is clearly not the case.
She KILLED all the skulls you see, brutally, and forced them into the cruel undeath for her own designs. Sure, the Baron was against the EVIL in his valley, and as such, Baba Yaga cursed him by taking away his children and making his castle weak. Think about it; His children have left him. That's an incredibly cruel, evil thing to do to a man, if you think about it. And she recruited the goblins. They hang out directly to the south of her. Thus, she must have had something with their little camp being there. Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Swift on September 15, 2004, 06:36:56 AM Again, where's the proof that she indeed kill to get those skulls, that she didn't just dig up some graves to get them, or that she had indeed hired those goblins? Those goblins could just be there because they like the place.
Quote And she recruited the goblins. They hang out directly to the south of her. Thus, she must have had something with their little camp being there. This is just cooincidence. It's not enough to prove anything. As for the baron, what she did was an evil thing, but it doesn't prove that she's pure evil. There's a difference between a bad character and a purely evil one. Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Jafar on September 15, 2004, 06:39:42 AM If I remember, the skulls are the remains of the soldiers the Baron sent to get rid of her. As for the goblins, who knows how long they've been there?
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Swift on September 15, 2004, 06:57:48 AM So maybe those skulls belonged to the poor, unfortunate soldiers sent to get rid of her. How is her killing them any worse than the hero killing those monsters and brigands that wandered the forests? You could argue that she was doing it in self-defence, and put up the skulls as a warning so that there won't be any more bloodshed.
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Guest_Jafar on September 15, 2004, 07:01:31 AM I wonder what she was like before the events of the first game... Maybe she had some bad things happening to her earlier and the Baron incident was the last straw.
Title: Baba Yaga ... Post by: Kailkay on September 17, 2004, 02:01:14 AM But she... she... it... he... they...
