Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Swift on March 06, 2005, 05:29:40 AM Does anyone have any easter egg ideas we can use for Hero7?
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 06, 2005, 05:43:30 AM monty python references are a must, maybe some laff references
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Swift on March 06, 2005, 06:20:15 AM Not sure about that Monty show since I've never watch it, but Herocia references are definitely a must! :D (And I'm not being bias) :P
Does anyone else have any suggestions? Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 06, 2005, 07:20:15 AM RPS references. Hey, it's your game, your RPS. Might as well mix em a bit.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Swift on March 06, 2005, 07:48:11 AM Good thinking, Corsair. :)
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 06, 2005, 07:58:05 AM I'm just a brilliant man with a brilliant mind.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Jafar on March 06, 2005, 08:00:00 AM Don't go getting a big(ger) head now.
Community refrences are also good ideas. Remember the Staff\Bonk idea? Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 06, 2005, 08:01:24 AM And you must have, at one point, a kirby come out of the woodwork or something and just walk along the road.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Swift on March 06, 2005, 08:14:26 AM All good ideas! Keep them coming!
Should we have Will the Dancing Skeleton? Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 06, 2005, 08:16:37 AM I dunno, but also have a moose head in the Adventurer's/Hero's Guild. It's a must have.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: JasonL on March 07, 2005, 02:39:46 PM Well you could give a reference to the creators of Hero 6 since they will all be long since dead when hero 7 is done. Heck most of them are going to long since dead when hero 6 is done. So why not have a graveyard with real shots of the members grave stones?
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 07, 2005, 06:41:21 PM You know, If this were my forum, I'd ban this guy for a week, just because he annoys me. But it isn't my forum. Pity. When you have something constructive to say, Jason, say it. And don't say that you actually thought it would be a good idea, because the subtext of your sentence says that the game won't be finished this decade. Guess what, Jason? They're practically DONE. Nearing Alpha phase! Bug Testing! Geez.
Okay, back on topic from my rant. Have some secret little QFG references, like the "Dragon's Breath" at the tavern. Also, maybe a few monkey island references. Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Iggy@school on March 07, 2005, 09:43:58 PM Quote Remember the Staff\Bonk idea? have a Brassfire character turning a KLK character into a newt, somewhere off in the distance Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 08, 2005, 12:31:50 AM Or a Swift one turning someone into a sheep.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Jafar on March 08, 2005, 02:25:56 AM Wait. A SHEPERD named Swift! :P
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Pwincess on March 08, 2005, 05:16:49 AM *waves bye bye to JasonL* ^_^
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Brassfire on March 08, 2005, 05:28:12 AM Ok, Corsair, your sig took FOREVER to load. It prevented me from accessing other sites for several minutes, and the same for everyone else on this network. Please replace it with a much smaller sig so that people who have less than a T1 dedicated line can READ THE FORUMS.
There may be some exaggeration in there, but that's only because I'm really frustrated about not being able to access other websites for minutes because of a SIG. Why do you have to have a sig that is 1442 KB in size? Yeesh! It's called consideration for others. It's also called keeping your sig size down. Thank you. Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 08, 2005, 05:52:44 AM *Hides* Sorry! I didn't realise it was that big. It's been changed.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Swift on March 08, 2005, 02:46:41 PM We should dedicate a tombstone to JasonL in the game for his wonderful suggestion.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 08, 2005, 10:42:44 PM corsair, that's your answer for everything in life
I vote for some tolkien references Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 08, 2005, 11:05:50 PM I agree. But not TOO obvious. Like, at some point, you kill a goblin or something, and you look at the body, and it says like "There's a Red Eye symbol on it's shield." or "The helmet has a white S emblazoned on it.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 08, 2005, 11:08:11 PM I was thinking more along the lines of a goblin cave in the mountains, or a shot of dwarves in a fir tree
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 08, 2005, 11:10:57 PM Or at some point, there's a huge fire on a mountain, and then in bright green letters beneath it, have it say "GANDALF IS HERE"
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 08, 2005, 11:12:09 PM how about a rain of flaming pinecones?
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 08, 2005, 11:12:49 PM That would be amusing. Or a spell that turns all your daggers into flaming pinecones. It's like zapping thrown daggers.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 08, 2005, 11:16:00 PM it should only turn them to pinecones at the top of a tree
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 09, 2005, 06:35:11 PM Maybe have some references to KQ9 and SQ7, assuming they'd be willing to share.
It is, after all, a time-honored tradition among these games, dating back to KQ2. Would be a shame not to have the plugs in there. ;) Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 10, 2005, 04:20:14 AM You need lots of CHEESE, too.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 10, 2005, 05:41:45 AM What is it with you and cheese? What are you, the crown prince?
... Don't answer that. Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 10, 2005, 05:45:09 AM We are insulted that it took you this long.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 10, 2005, 05:52:45 AM Alright, Great Monarch, if you're the real Prince, then where are your subjects?
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 10, 2005, 05:53:50 AM We have killed them all, and replaced them with robot zombie wizard ninjas.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 10, 2005, 06:09:57 AM Oh. Well then...*uses Control Lightning abillity to Destroy them all*
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 10, 2005, 06:12:45 AM They have Lightning Protection from the wizard part. And they can teleport and dodge super because of the ninja part.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 10, 2005, 06:14:30 AM Ah, but you see...that was a distraction.
*Flys off to the control room and turns them all off, then fries all the circuits and computers of the building* Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Jafar on March 10, 2005, 06:22:21 AM *Sprays a can of rust promoter DX on the robots*
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 10, 2005, 06:26:03 AM You forgot their emergency CHEESE power generators! AHAHAHA!
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Eleas on March 10, 2005, 06:19:21 PM Quote You forgot their emergency CHEESE power generators! AHAHAHA! For references... why, there's always the dreaded three-headed monkey of Monkey Island fame. Rarely seen, never captured, the whereabouts of this ever-elusive beast are shrouded in mystery. As for me, I think it hides in the thickest parts of the hero6 forest. :) Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 10, 2005, 09:50:02 PM What does that have to do with emergency cheese power generators?
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 10, 2005, 11:39:44 PM as much as the generators have to do with this topic
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 11, 2005, 03:09:26 PM Quote Pizza.. ...in the hand is better in the mouth.Back on topic: Maybe have a scene where it comes up in XGA mode (QFG1 and 2), then have it say "Oops! Wrong format!", then when they try to go to the scene again, it's normal. Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 11, 2005, 09:15:51 PM Don't you mean EGA?
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Iggy@school on March 11, 2005, 09:36:38 PM looks like a typo to me
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 11, 2005, 10:36:07 PM UNFORGIVABLE!
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 15, 2005, 02:46:24 AM that's debateable. like just about anything else
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 15, 2005, 10:04:31 PM EXECUTION AT DAWN!
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 16, 2005, 03:30:31 AM I'll make sure that the guards get the wrong message
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 16, 2005, 04:10:04 AM Which is execution 2 hours beforehand.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 16, 2005, 04:35:02 AM I was thinking more of a change of target
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 16, 2005, 04:35:33 AM To the other guard?
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 16, 2005, 04:36:31 AM nope. you'll find out an hour before dawn
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 16, 2005, 04:36:47 AM After I kill them.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 16, 2005, 08:20:49 PM no, after they escprt you to the gallows
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 26, 2005, 07:56:04 PM Anyway, I have an idea for a humorous moment.
everytime you leave the inn, the innkeeper makes you take a bowl of soup, which is completely inedible. you can throw the soup at a monster and cause it to begin gagging, allowing you to get away. at some point there is a quest that requires an empty bowl, and the only way to empty the bowl is to slip on a patch of ice, or some such thing. Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on March 26, 2005, 11:26:06 PM Yeah, but why would you cart around a bowl of soup that was inedible? The character, I mean. It's kind of funny, though. A little. Maybe.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 28, 2005, 07:45:30 PM you carry it around to throw at the really big monsters that you can't beat yet. or you make it so that you can't drop it
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Paladin0707077 on April 06, 2005, 05:09:01 PM How about instead of getting rid of the soup in the bowl, you simply have it where someone is able to eat it and really likes it? Then they give you some reward.
You know, maybe an ogress or something of similiar lines (hint, hint). Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Swift on April 06, 2005, 05:10:51 PM Ogress? You mean the same one in Hero of Infamous Kingdoms?
Btw, welcome back. You missed all the fun. Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Paladin0707077 on April 06, 2005, 06:14:48 PM Yeah, that's the one. Or maybe some sort of goat-woman.
Not really. I was watching the whole time. Just chose not to post until now. ;) Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Corsair5 on April 06, 2005, 09:37:05 PM We need some kind of mention of HOIK. Like, maybe a guy with a turban talking about magic tomatos.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on April 06, 2005, 10:25:37 PM "you hear a loud and heated discussion from the other side of the wall. you are unable to make out any words other than the last two, those being: THE TURBAN!"
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Swift on April 07, 2005, 01:14:07 AM Good one, Ignus.
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Jafar on April 10, 2005, 12:11:58 PM Maybe a death where the hero tries to kill a pixie and gets polymorphed by Swift? :fairy:
Dealt with Swiftly As you crush the poor, defenseless pixie in your hand, you hear movement behind you. Before you can turn around, you find yourself shrinking and changing into a pixie! The last words you hear just before being stuffed in a bottle are "Pixie for sale! 120 gold!" Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Swift on April 10, 2005, 12:43:23 PM Another good one! Keep them coming, guys!
Title: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on April 11, 2005, 01:29:49 PM have a guardian that, when you throw rocks at it reads:
"the elk knight, he aint" Title: Re: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Alis on May 11, 2006, 08:08:25 PM What about some Marx Brothers references, like in QfG2?
Title: Re: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: Ignus_Draconus on May 23, 2006, 11:56:06 PM that might be an option, but how many people, like myself, won't get them?
Title: Re: Easter Eggs for Hero7 Post by: anthenor on May 26, 2006, 09:51:35 PM Hero7 definitly needs a MAD programmer in it. And you'll have to bane a demon offcourse. (As a tribute to old times)
