Title: Dialogue Post by: Corsair5 on February 09, 2005, 06:17:41 PM How is Dialogue currently handled? Will it be QFG 1vga/3 style (Portraits talking) 4's style (A full picture of them talking) 5's, where a small portrait moves it's tiny lips, or like QfG1Ega and 2, where text just pops up on the screen, with no portrait or anything accompanying?
Title: Dialogue Post by: Ignus_Draconus on February 10, 2005, 12:54:36 AM the demo had a four-ish look.
Title: Dialogue Post by: Striker on February 10, 2005, 12:58:11 AM And that's how it still is.
Title: Dialogue Post by: Corsair5 on February 10, 2005, 04:06:59 PM Yes! That was the best one!
Title: Dialogue Post by: Ignus_Draconus on February 10, 2005, 10:47:33 PM I think I agree with you there
Title: Dialogue Post by: Jafar on February 13, 2005, 02:50:19 AM Thats what happens when you become a Mod. You start enforcing rules instead of breaking them. :winktongue:
So, the game has a QG4 style? Sounds cool. B) Title: Dialogue Post by: Corsair5 on February 13, 2005, 05:32:19 AM Yes, Dread Mistress.
I checked the Waterfall demo, it looks more like large QFG3 or 1 portraits to me than the 4 style, which took you two a whole new screen. Title: Dialogue Post by: Jafar on February 13, 2005, 05:33:18 AM I think the forest demo had the QG4 style.
Title: Dialogue Post by: Corsair5 on February 13, 2005, 05:33:59 AM Ah. Well, I can't access the Forest Demo so
Title: Dialogue Post by: Swift on February 13, 2005, 05:41:12 AM I've played the alpha demo, so let me just assure you that it's done in QG 4 style. Not just that, but all the dialogue pics I've seen so far are breathtaking.
Title: Dialogue Post by: Corsair5 on February 13, 2005, 05:42:51 AM I knew they would be. Thanks for alleviating my suspicions.
Title: Dialogue Post by: WuPhu on February 25, 2005, 09:02:30 PM The dialogue screen is a menu of dialogue options next to a portrait of the character that has animated eyes and mouth. When you pick an option, a window comes up with the dialogue and when it's done it goes back to the menu.
I haven't played all the QFG games so I can't compare it, but I think the dialogue screen is done really well. Title: Dialogue Post by: Pwincess on February 25, 2005, 11:01:38 PM Thanks for the update WuPhu :)
Title: Dialogue Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 04, 2005, 12:38:13 AM :P
whatever happened to the forest demo, anyway? Title: Dialogue Post by: Swift on March 04, 2005, 01:55:30 AM I refer you to this topic (http://visitors.hero6.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=111) for more info.
Title: Dialogue Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 05, 2005, 04:36:17 PM yeah, that helps.
anyway, is it just me, or is the final version of Flight of the Tuatha a little choppy Title: Dialogue Post by: Swift on March 05, 2005, 04:56:43 PM Technically, you're off-topic, Iggy, but since it's on Hero6, I'll allow it.
That music piece sounds ok to me. I didn't hear any choppiness. Title: Dialogue Post by: Pwincess on March 05, 2005, 08:59:56 PM It's one of my favourites!
Title: Dialogue Post by: Ignus_Draconus on March 06, 2005, 02:48:05 AM mine too. I just realized that the choppiness is inherent in the computer I normally use, not the music itsself
Title: Dialogue Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 06, 2005, 05:41:58 AM So, will all the characters have voices, or only the "main" ones?
Title: Dialogue Post by: Swift on March 06, 2005, 06:13:41 AM I don't know. It's not even decided if we'll have voices in the game to begin with.
Title: Dialogue Post by: Iggy@school on March 07, 2005, 09:01:40 PM It should, if you can find enough voices. and if the programers don't rebel
Title: Dialogue Post by: Corsair5 on March 07, 2005, 09:17:09 PM I say they finish the game without voices at first, then either Hero6 or a third party creates a voice pack.
Title: Dialogue Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 09, 2005, 06:43:41 PM Good idea. But Hero6 would still need to find voice content (if not talent).
And there still has to be a genuine interest in the voice pack. Title: Dialogue Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 10, 2005, 06:06:48 AM
But about the voices: would we want a narrator? And who would it be if so? Title: Dialogue Post by: Corsair5 on March 10, 2005, 06:09:39 AM Ooh! Ooh! Me!
Title: Dialogue Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 10, 2005, 06:10:57 AM Well, actually, what I meant was: what kind of narrator are we looking for? One of QFG4 style? Or something else?
Title: Dialogue Post by: Corsair5 on March 10, 2005, 06:11:45 AM QfG4 style narrator was awesome.
Title: Dialogue Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 10, 2005, 06:21:27 AM Yeah, but will it fit this particular game...?
Title: Dialogue Post by: Swift on March 10, 2005, 12:31:45 PM Well, if we ever come to that stage, and if we really want a narrator, we'll let everyone know what sort of voice is needed to play the part.
Title: Dialogue Post by: Paladin0707077 on March 11, 2005, 03:26:29 PM OK...so...what kind of software would we need, assuming you decide to do a voice pack?
Title: Dialogue Post by: Swift on March 11, 2005, 04:19:37 PM If the time comes, we'll let you know. There's little point to go into the details at this stage since this hasn't even been confirmed yet.
