1  The Hero6 Project / Hero6 Discussion / Re: Ideas to get this started again... on: August 10, 2009, 08:33:50 AM
Hello guys. There has been an interesting twist in fate for the Hero6 project. Although at this time I'm not at liberty to explain.
In other words, the project will now continue, and will definitely be finished.

BUT, if you guys really are interested, you can e-mail me your info to gronagor at gmail dot com.

I can't promise we'll invite everyone who's interested, but skills are a rare commodity in our genre at this stage.

See you all!

It's back! Woohoo! I still have some power here!! Smiley

The admins are busy sorting the forums. I think they should be almost done, so I'm sure we can post. Smiley

Moving the thread back. It seems there was some kind of bad sector or something, which was why they moved it to a admin-forum. Deleted the problematic post, so it should be fine now.

(PS: If it shows strangely, please refrain from replying to this topic!)

Hey ColtCentaur. Long time! Smiley Interesting that so many of the old members just suddenly appear at the same time!!  rofl

Well... it's not completely dead, but as for the revival I'd say 'watch this space'. You interested in working on a project still?

Hey Guys and Gals,

Yeah, decided to visit the site as well when I read in the members forum that SE posted here! Smiley  Been a while! The Visitors site looks kinda neat!

JasonL, yeah, I'm sorry about blaming you for deleting the files back then, but I was shocked to find so many files missing (and you deleted your files, so automaticly I assumed the worst...). Sorry about that. If I remember correctly it later on became apparent that a hacker broke into the forums somehow, but Coco and Phattie dealt with him. (This is all from vague memory)

SE, very nice to hear from you!! Been so long! Phattie said he was shocked to hear your account has been disabled, so I guess he reactivated it.

Storm. Let's just say that if that comes, we'll handle it. After 6.25 years none of us would like the idea of Hero6 simply stopping for something that hasn't happened.

Copyright laws ain't clear-cut. (as you said) A good lawyer would find it easy to close down our project. A good lawyer could close down LucasArts games for having a similar adventure game to Sierra's first adventure games.

But a good lawyer would cost money, and weighed against the threat that Hero6 presents (which would be nothing), it wouldn't be worth it.

Thanks for all the opinions, but nothing will come from this discussion.

Swift, please lock this thread. KQ9 hasn't been discussed since page 2.

Sorry ReishVedaur, but I have no access to plot applications. Can't even see them. Smiley

Ok, everybody. I don't know why Hero6 have been brought up as possibly receiving a C&D.

From behind the curtain I'll tell you this. A year or two ago a few projects were closed down. From VU themselves we learned that 'Hero6 is walking a thin line'. Since then we've done everything in our power to change anything related to Sierra's products. Please ignore the demo. Those were nothing more than engin tests which we decided to share with the visitors.

Although we have certain similarities, it is like Swift and Phattie said: they are generic to all adventure and RPG games.

If it does come to the point where we're contacted we'll have a long nice discussion with them. Possibly even show them our newest alpha while sharing a nice cup of coffee.

Sorry Jaded. I mistook you for someone who applied earlier who haven't replied to me.

Because of a recent server update some of our scripts (in this case the new application system) aren't working as they should. I'm just waiting for Coco to either update those scripts or add the new members manually.

Jaded, I'll e-mail you now.

I know it's a bit late, but I needed to answer to this.
The domain was renewed. You guys probably attempted to log during this time (probably a few minutes). Could be in the cache. Either yours or the provider's.
13  The Hero6 Project / Offtopic Mayhem / Adventure Fans: Home Languages on: July 20, 2005, 08:14:28 AM
What is your Home Language?

----
After a few seconds of insanity I decided NOT to make a poll out of this subject.
Most adventure games use English. We've seen a few German, Deutch and French games, but does it really represent all the players out there??

----

Well... me first:

Afrikaans

14  The Hero6 Project / Hero6 Discussion / FAQ on: June 27, 2005, 01:58:22 PM
For some reason our artists were spending too much time working on the bar.
We had to close it down until further notice.   <_<

Come on Cain. Do you really want to spoil this for everyone? We've all been working on this for a long time. Please, let's talk via PM at the AGDI forums.
