In the immortal words of Garfield (Fat Cat),

WORK! WORK! WORK!

Hero Seven: Make QfG Six, Sierra, or I'll rob you blind.
2673  The Hero6 Project / Offtopic Mayhem / Should Sierra... on: January 18, 2005, 05:51:54 PM
I don't think QFG could be continued. Now, before you vehemently flame me for defiling the name of the Holy Four...(Five dudn't count"), let me explain.

The series was over. The Hero was at least as powerful as, say, Rakeesh or Erana or any of the powerful characters. I mean, he had saved the world TWICE in one career, he was the king of probably one of the wealthiest kingdoms in existance, and he was married. Probably. So, he can't exactly go gallivanting over the countryside, what with the Wife and the kingdom. Personally, I think they should bring in a whole new character. Not a new series, but a new character. Continue with the whole general thing, you know, puns, general humor, fighting, and then cut off the general tedium of the jokes with something deadly serious, like almost the whole of QfG4.
2674  The Hero6 Project / Offtopic Mayhem / Who is... on: January 18, 2005, 05:43:33 PM
Oh, my gosh! Punny was funny even without his joke bar. How can you possibly vote for Punny Bones? I nearly made him a villain in a fanfic I was GOING to write.

The most annoying has got to be Mr. Hot Pants, Magnum Opus. God, the first and second rites made me cry, having to look at those fricking tight pants. Those things are disturbing.

Not only that, but "I, Magnum Opus from the homeland of Romulus and Remus, Leader of armies, fearless with the weapons of war, fierce, fearless and fearsome in battle, shall win the rites and become the king, of this kingdom." Even poor old Logos sounded disgusted with him. And then there was the time I beat him in the Arena using MY COLD BARE HANDS! No armor, no gadgets, no widgets, no potions, no pills, and no nifty tricks....

But then again, I DID kick butt. Man, my thief was as good as a Fighter..I had maxed out all the stats I had, 'cept Intelligence and Magic..my intelligence kept getting dragged down by Opus.

However, The Laibon was irritating too, but I didn't have to hear his voice. Same with Swordy Lordy.

But, oh man, the most annoying thing in existance in the QFG series is...

QFG5 itself!

Bruno cut him off with a glare, and said "You got a pretty mouth".
2676  The Hero6 Project / Future Hero6 Projects / Riddle me this, riddle me that on: January 18, 2005, 05:32:18 PM
I've been thinking, and, perhaps one of the close allies or something of the hero could be like a demon or a hag or something, and you have to investigate a series of bizarre murders involving devoured children and grown men and women, hung with their own arteries, and eventually follow the trail back to...Dun dun DUUUUUUUN!

Er, was that idea a little too disturbing?
2677  The Hero6 Project / Future Hero6 Projects / Weapons System on: January 18, 2005, 05:29:19 PM
That's a good idea, Swift. I always thought the Paladin sword would radiate light or white fire. And if it ignites when danger is near, that'd be cool, too. All you'd have to do is that whenever a monster appears, it switches in appearance from a normal sword to the Paladin sword. Not sure how tough that'd be, though.
2678  The Hero6 Project / Future Hero6 Projects / Monsters on: January 18, 2005, 05:27:42 PM
Yeah, the difference would be that the Goblin Raiders would have full Goblin Armor. (Having the same style as the LotR Uruk-Hai would be awesome.)
2679  The Hero6 Project / Future Hero6 Projects / New Character Class? on: January 18, 2005, 05:25:49 PM
Yes, you could do that in QFG, but was it a good idea? Personally, I think we should make you the class you are, unless you're a Paladin and would prefer to be a Fighter. But that is unlikely that anyone would want to. Still, i've seen some people comment about how annoying it was that in QFG2 if you did some things you had to become a Paladin.

How about we call it "Hero Seven: Trial by Earth" Or "Hero Seven: Trial by Water"?

And, to be certain, being a villain is allowed, correct? My current character is kind of the antithesis of a Paladin. That Amulet WILL be mine!

Avatar. 'nuff said.

Sorry about the sickness, Swift.

Um, when are these on U.S. Central Time?
2684  The Hero6 Project / Future Hero6 Projects / Monsters on: January 16, 2005, 10:16:16 PM
How about raiding Goblin groups? Not like the ones in QfG1, these guys would be armored and fully trained, and a reasonably tough opponent, equal in caliber to like one of the Brigands of QfG1.
2685  The Hero6 Project / Game Development Discussion / 2D VS 3D on: January 16, 2005, 10:04:31 PM
The discussion of 2D vs. 3D is like discussing what's better, SNES or XBOX. One is old, one is the new thing. The SNES had some of the best RPGs ever, for examples, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3, and a few others. The XBOX has some of the best action games ever, Like Halo and Fable. (I don't call Fable an RPG because it sucked.)

Likewise, 2D had some of the best games ever, QFG 1-4, (Particularly four. ) KQ1-6 or seven, I forget if Seven was 3D or 2D. Space Quest series...the list goes on, mostly Sierra Quests.

Now 3D is the big thing. It's got the FPS, the RPGs (Except for Baldur's Gate and a few others, those are pretty meh, usually.)

The answer depends on your tastes. Personally, I don't care if it's 2D or 3D. It's the plotline, gameplay, and neat little "Stuff", like Half-Life 2's physics puzzles.
