Title: Hero badge
Post by: pyro on October 16, 2004, 01:41:36 AM
I've been busy making a photoshop image with many layers for you guys that wan't to make you own hero badge. Its as simple as turning on and off various layers to change the look. There's a few text colors to, all you have to do is select the letter you want copy and paste it onto the badge easy.

It can be as simple as this...
or as complex as this...

Anyway here's the PSD.
Hero6 Badge (http://www.qfg3d.com/meep/Pyro/hero6/hero6%20badge1.zip)
It's about 3 megs and the file is password protected. Just leave a post here if you want the password and I'll PM it to you....if your a hero... :D Oh and you super hero's I'll be making extra options for you soon I have to reinstall windows first tho...any requests?

Oh I kind of borrowed the dragon from the old login screen sorry.

Enjoy.

Cool! Thank you very much for taking the time to make hero badges!

I think BF should get a Famous Adventurer badge.

Post by: pyro on October 16, 2004, 03:25:22 AM
I'll do the super hero badge first, then i'll work out how im going to make the famous adventurer badge better than a super hero badge.

My ideas for the super hero badge so far:

Gold text
Jelly beans
Colored gems
Ice cream topping
marshmello attachments
more emblems like the dragon.
anything else you can think of that I have time for maybe something specific for each super hero there arn't to many of you, like an embeded kirby for jafar.

I could write a tutorial for you people who are less experienced at photoshop on how to use this PSD if that would be helpfull.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I personally liked the personalised superhero badge idea.

Super awesome! I don't have photoshop on this computer though, so I can't really check it out.

Ok. I'll have a go at making personalised superhero badge's as long as it's within my skill. Swift you were the first to post here so how would you like to see your badge?

I'd like it to be elf-related, but if it's tedious, marshmellows will do. Thanks.

A sword and cargoe pants would be cool for mine.

I'll take some of those marshmellows too, if you have some left, and maybe some lint

Don't forget the magically-refilling skin of beer for Bierhoff!

Title: Hero badge
Post by: pyro on October 17, 2004, 08:56:37 AM
Just got through reinstalling windows and most my other programmes. I'll start on the badges tomorrow it'll probably take some time though.

Swift, do you have any links to elf like fonts or art I could use to get an idea from?

Lord_Bierhoff, a sword I can do but cargoe pants on a badge??? I got pleanty of lint lying around to just look in that corner yeesh *starts vacuuming*

I think magically refilling things should be a famous adventurer privilage. besides if there was a magically-refilling skin of beer I would have found it by now.

I think celtic font is pretty elf-like.

Free celtic font (http://www.ireland-information.com/freecelticfonts.htm)

The elves of World of Warcraft look nice, but now that I think of it, it might be easier making a badge with a unicorn pic on it. I'm leaving the creative decision to you.

Wow it's realy here the never ending waterskin of beer after all these years, say what brew is that? since your sharing I guess it can go on the badge some how.

A tiara thats a fancy thing you were on your head right?

Here's my first attempt at a super hero badge not sure if this is elven or not I think it looks more roman or celtic let me know what you think. Every thing is on a seperate layer so if colors need changing it's pretty easy.

Swifts super hero badge!

and here's a Non animated (http://www.qfg3d.com/meep/Pyro/hero6/SheroSwift1.gif) version, better quality.

Jafar I think your next in line how would you like to see your badge?

an embeded kirby for jafar.
I think that this would do nicely. (http://www.classicgaming.com/kirby/info/anime/officialart/swordkirby.gif)
I liked how you put a title on Swift's badge. I'd like my title to be "Hero of Lore".
(NOTE: I'm not inflating my ego, that was the second highest rank in Kirby's Adventure. :P )
Can't think of anything else right now.

Title: Hero badge
Post by: Swift on October 24, 2004, 11:04:33 AM
Thank you so much for the badge! I like the animation effect, but it covers up the last letter so I can't see it. The size of the badge also seems a tad big for a signature. Can it be reduced to say 75%? Everything else is fine, thanks for making it.

It's Newcastle Brown in the waterskin.

It's been so long since I've been on these boards that I don't even remember my rank... *smile* Hi, people.

Hi Damia!

You're a Hero now. You just need to have a total of 1000 posts to make it to Superhero.

Sure buy one get one free, fresh out of stock at the moment but more are on the way. Just leave a request on this here from and i'll see if I can get it custom made for ya.

But seriously its goning to take about a week to make each one, maybe more, depending on how much free time I have and the complexity of the design.

Im glad to hear you like it thanks.

I think it looks good...

*hears sound of a Kirby running to grab his badge*

*dives for cover*

P.S. I could be wrong, but I think the dial-up users would appreciate a slightly smaller file size. :P

Title: Hero badge
Post by: Swift on November 16, 2004, 11:38:52 AM
That is seriously cool. Nice work, Pyro. I do think the word "super" looks odd though. At first I thought it was "Repus".

Title: Hero badge
Post by: pyro on November 17, 2004, 04:56:16 AM
Thanks Swift but kirby gets half the credit he's a good poser.

LOL I did write it as repus at first before rotating it into position, guess I shouldn't take that shortcut anymore. How do you think it should be written, the opposite to how it is now or all letters facing center? I might change the color to and try to make a smaller file size.

Title: Hero badge
Post by: Louisiana Night on November 17, 2004, 07:47:16 AM
Most people read from the top of the page(or pic :P ) to the bottom, so shouldn't the "S" be at the top(if you're going to change the text arrangement)?

Title: Hero badge
Post by: Jafar on November 17, 2004, 10:15:18 PM
Its almost almost perfect. I don't think anyone would be impressed if I told them I was a Repus Hero though. :P Turn it around, please, and lets see how that works.

Title: Hero badge
Post by: pyro on November 18, 2004, 05:48:20 AM
It would be easier to read from top down sure but makes less sense take a look at this coin (http://apps.heritagecoin.com/features/vcc.php?id=00.25_01&s=r) thats what I mean by letters facing center, it would still look funny if I just turned it around. I was originally going to do it the same as the coin but my lazyness on that day got in the way. Its up to you tho I don't mind either way.

Title: Hero badge
Post by: Jafar on November 24, 2004, 06:58:34 AM
Hmm, I've given it some thought and maybe if the words are slided (Thats definatly not the right word...) a little to the right, it will be easier to read.

Post by: pyro on November 26, 2004, 04:17:51 AM
Umm Im afraid I have some bad news. After installing a new fan in my system apprantly the power draw was to much, there was some pretty sparks and now my hard disk no longer goes. When I get around to buying a new hard drive and installing everything I'll be able to make a new badge. there is a slight possibility I can recover my drive by swapping the circuit boards with another of the same type any one got any 60 seagate drives lying around?

Title: Hero badge
Post by: Pwincess on November 26, 2004, 07:10:51 AM
Sorry to hear about your hdd Pyro.  Hopefully you'll be able to rescue the info from your hdd  :)

The same thing happened to us on Monday.  The hdd of the computer we use to server our NWN's server died (it started making a sound which I never heard before and then Windows sent us a 'hdd failure' message).

With the cooling system, last summer my bf bought a new system which was over heating, and the only way to 'cool it down' was to blow a 40cm fan directly on it *grin*

Yeah I got a new HDD up and running, and 2 of the three main programmes I use installed. Im still looking for an identicle HDD to the one the that died, so I can salvage the pcb and hopefully get it up and running again. Other than that im trying to find the motivation to start over.

If you have the time, Pyro, may I have one? Here's how i'd like it.

Edges would be curving horns, curving upwards towards the pinaccle of bone rising out of the middle. The interior would be filled with fire, and in Black writing, have it say...

                Corsair

      Dark Knight of the East

I realise I'm not at Knight status yet, but I will...I will.

Post by: pyro on January 19, 2005, 04:56:07 AM
LOL nice try you have to be a Super Hero to get a personalised badge. I might make a Saphire pin for reaching knight status or something similar.

Jafar I might have a go at remaking your badge, I don't have any of the original textures so it'll look a little diffrent besides the wording is there anything else you want changed?

I wasn't spreading false rumors about you and swift. I was just remarking on the obvious attraction you have to her. I mean, come on, Jafar. Be honest with yourself. You're her "Guardian"! The connection is clear. And the "We're just friends" line has been used a million times, usually about a month before the proposal.

Corsair, I'm seven years older than Jafar and far more athletic. Which makes me a lot older and stronger than someone who hasn't even been through high school yet (that being you). So if I 'couldn't even beat a straw dummy' that lone thread of straw must be looking pretty threatening to you.

we would never have cracked it if we hadn't found one of the encryption machines, or if Hitler had changed the code more often.

You can't. There's a pizza sauce embargo, and all the mozzarella cheese is in my storehouses. Also, the pepperoni is being stored in a hidden cupboard in a hidden room in my hidden palace.

don't worry, there's nothing like an irate dragon to get a politician to do something. i think it has to do with fear of loss of limb, but I'm not sure.

Dragons are nothing against Avoozl. And Avoozl has this nifty thing he calls a "SUPER STAR DESTROYER". Basically, it's an eight kilometer long weapon of war with enough firepower to lay waste to a planet. And then it just has to go recharge its guns, then lay waste to another. It's also very nifty.

LOL I bet the dark side never thought of including a dragon defense system to the internals of a death star, it would be amusing to watch especially if that dragon could use the force......bolt spell.

Hah. The Dragon of Doom was killed with a poisoned dagger. These things have huge laser cannons that can turn armored citadels into iron dust! The Dragon will be vaporized. Besides, it'll die from lack of oxygen and pressure loss well before it comes into range.

2. B'rrr 8817 posts

4. racx 7509 posts

5. Yonkey 5841 posts.
