Banshee's are harolds of death from Irish mythology.  They traditionally were old ladies who screached really loudy (think Peter Jackson's Nazgul but worse).  If you heard one it meant you would die really soon.  They didn't kill anybody, but somebody (probably D&D) thought it would be fun to add them to a monsters list, so now we have a type of monster orginally was a none agressive type of creature.

Didn't you hear? Jafar and Tomi quested together for a while when he saved Neverwinter. He gave Tomi the boot for Linu though. :P

Two things...

First, we have yet to decide whether Devon will be a Paladin in this RPS world, king of Silmaria or even married for that matter, so you might want to change that part of your profile if everyone decides that he should be a Thief, for instance.

Second, you have waaaaay too many abilities for a Paladin/Wizard/Thief. Please cut down on the number of spells and skills you have as multiclass characters cannot be that powerful. Even I have less spells then you do currently, and I'm a pure mage.

Durindana?  I'm sure there were swords before Hector got his ;)
you forgot to meantion that Rogar secretly wants to be a healer :P and dislikes Delor making pyres for the semi-died.

1. I didn't say he was the king (best choice for a Paladin is not to be, anyway) and since you referenced the Silmaria RPS, I figured it would be safe to reference the Mordavia RPS (where Devon was a Paladin and was married to Erana).

2.  I did try to avoid using the high-power spells and stuck with low-level attacks, defensive, and general abilities.  Besides, his mana stinks. :D Still, if you insist, I'll cut back on the Magic (but not the Paladin Abilities, please; my plans for him require a "full" Paladin), though I'll be sure to keep in everything he used/suggested using in the first session.


Actually, I think his name was Orlando/Roland. ;)
As to the Healer thing, Paladins are supposed to help however they can.
And pyromaniacs just get on his nerves. :D

Actually, that wasn't a reference to the Silmaria RPS at all. I decided not to use the history you wrote for my character and used my own. She's not a half-elf, her father isn't a dark elf, both parents are dead, and she doesn't even have a hatred for all elves.

And I know you didn't say that Devon is the king. It's just to point out that nothing's been set in stone for this RPS world yet so I'd advise you to use a different NPC to teach him all that.

[edit] And she might not even *be* Erana's sucessor. I left that part open in case I want to develop on that idea later.

Brainiac my dear boy, didn't you know that Roland/Orlando had Hector's sword?  In one story a Tartar king got the rest of Hector's armour from a cave Merlin   made (the French aren't very creative so they have to swipe things from other people's mythologies) and set out on a quest to take Durindana from Orlando/Roland.  It resulted in a whole cycle of stories.

I've just edited my character sheet, as I forgot that I'd used 'Slow' and 'Invisibility' in the RPS. As I'm adding two more spells in, I'm removing 'Trigger'.

Well, you can always get the Fighter/Paladin/Blackguard (Me) of the group to bash on the door til the trap explodes..then have the OTHER Paladin (Rogar or Jafar) to heal him.

Mainly the reason why I'm contemptuous of Jafar, is because he's a big bad Paladin and all, yet he has to have a wizard protect him from mean old Blackguard. And also, Males have the greater tradition of military service. It also has a little something to do called "Male Instinct". I'll tell you about THOSE later.

For those of you who were unaware, in the World of (I don't think it has a name, yet.) Of the Elder Scrolls Series, Khajiit are Elves. However, they have an appearance similar to that of, say, Hobbes. They're cats that walk on two feet and have opposable thumbs. Khajjit are particularly reknowned for their acrobatic ability and innate stealth. Perfect for Thieves.

No, Kajiiit are not Elves... they just have a great varied number of subspecies.  The cathay-raht (from Daggerfall) look very much like Elves, unlike the suthay-raht (Morrowind). Aside from standing on their hind legs, the suthay-raht look nothing like Elves.  Yet, both are Kajiit... and not Elves.

My mistake. I misread it. I forgot, only the species with "Mer" as the endling, like the Dunmer, Dwemer, Altmer, and Bosmer are elven. But I do know this.

Khajiit come from the province of Elsweyr, directly south of the Capital Province, Cyrodill.

Two things, Corsair.

First, try to keep all your comments to this topic.

Second, you were a bit overpowered imo in that you either ignored attacks that were directed at your character or didn't seem to be affected or slowed down by spells and attacks that did manage to hit you.

As for LB, his character is a drunken master and so it's understandable for him to be pretty fast and good at dodging despite being drunk (actually, it's because of his drunkeness that he's superfast). The so-called 'spell immunity' that you claimed LB had was just him being unfazed by your flame dart. As he'd pointed out in his character sheet, he does have resistance to spells (though he needs to specify what kind of spells) and flame dart is pretty weak for a fire spell, so it is possible for him to be unfazed by a simple spell.

Anyway, you need to react to whatever attacks that get thrown at you. I'm not saying that your character should be constantly hit. He is allowed to dodge some of them, but you need to state for those times that he does. And if your character is successfully hit, he should react to it, and not maintain the same attack speed as though he wasn't hurt. Also, not every attack made by your character should be successful.

Please also be clearer on how your abilities work. I just took a look at your character sheet, and I see nothing that indicates you having the ability to block out the sun.

LB, you do need to make sure that your character isn't overpowered either. If you successfully dodge almost every single attack and spell in every session, then it becomes Godmoding.

Sorry. It's a bit hard when I've got to react to five people sending fists or swords or spells at me at the same time.

I understand. We'll probably have to do something about how combat should be handled  by a large group of people.

Well... as I pointed out in the chat, it was your own fault for walking in front of the party right then.  Things don't always go as you plan in RP sessions and you have to improvise.  Mistakes like that can get your dumb self killed.  So, instead of having that, you resorted to godmoding so you could cover up your own ineptitude.

Hmm... since we don't exactly know how "slowed" Kadis was, whether Grit was bruised or slightly cut is a moot point.

However, Kadis certainly didn't have the power to slice off an armored tail either, as you so implied.  Heck, it's actually extremely difficult (if almost impossible) to slice off an exposed human limb with a standard medieval fighting sword in one stroke, let alone a scaled beast's while moving at a slower than normal.

And yes, shapeshift to a southern QFG troll and your wounds will regenerate, but as with any shape, Grit gains all it's inheriant strengths and weaknesses.  Don't play all-overpowering, just play smarter.

About your edit and the slow thing... the amount of force behind an attack that was delivered in at speeds far less than normal would be far less than at faster speeds.  Based on the laws of physics, lessened damage is implied.

And how do we know QfG Trolls have the same physiology as AD&D Trolls? They certainly don't LOOK like AD&D trolls. LotR trolls don't regenerate, you'll notice.

Physics apply to actions that occur in real life.  You need a basis of real world physics so everyone has a point of reference.  This is especially important to sword and shield style combat.  It's a pretty simple concept.

Again, read the QFG1 manual for information on the QFG Southern Troll.

Oh, yes, QfG1 manuals. Those things are like priceless ming vases, man. Rare as anything.

Funny that you should mention that. Your character didn't appear at all slowed down after that spell  was cast on him. In fact, he appeared to be moving at exactly the same speed as before. Like I said earlier, you need to react to what's thrown at you.

...Alright, you've made your point. But dear god, I wasn't the only one who was overpowered in that fight. I think most of you were a little overpowered too, especially how Jakchim shook off my Blackguard Ability. But what do I know?

You can't really complain that LB shook off your blackguard ability as you didn't specify at all in your profile exactly what it is. All you did was compare it to a spell and said it was far more powerful than that. That's too vague. Also, the rest of us weren't overpowered. Our characters didn't dodge every attack. Instead, most of us received the blows and reacted accordingly. We didn't godmode.

And again, how were you able to block out the sun?

Corsair: I would have accepted your black guard spell as you defined it later, but in session it was poorly defined.  I think the confusion arose from the name of it.
you will note that the dictionary defines compel as:
v 1: force or compel somebody to do something; "We compel all
          students to fill out this form" [syn: oblige, obligate]
     2: make someone do something [syn: command, require]
when you case Avoozl compel you didn't specify who you were compeling and what you were compelling them to do.  since you don't declare these things in your post your spell was incomplete which gave us a chance to respond before you persumably finished your spell in the next post.

from the way you describe your spell I think it would be better to call it 'Avoozl repel'.  this way we'd know that you are devinely forcing us back without refering to your character sheet.

Swift (refering back several posts): I definately agree that the combat system needs revamping.  we need some neutral person determine success and failure, attacks per round, etc. because we have as many understandings of the situations as we have players (if not more). until we have this sorted out I'd recommend we avoid pc vs pc combats.

first of all, his fire's out, so he can't use his hot air to bouy him. second, ice is pretty darn heavy

EDIT: Oh and the US issue M16A2 can only fire semi-auto or three-round bursts so you'll need another weapon to do spray and pray. Considering Aaron's special forces background he may have converted the rifle to full-auto himself.

No, that's Neutral good that you've just described, not "Chaotic good".

Neutral Good ("Benefactor") - Taking care of people and doing what is right is more important than obeying laws or following rules. These characters or monsters follow good laws, but are willing to break others.

A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. The common phrase for neutral good is ?true good.?

Chaotic Good ("Rebel") - These basically good people do not like to be told what to do. They dislike rules, laws, or making any plans.

A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society.

Jigen, firstly, there are a few things I can do to separate me from my platoon. Also, there's a nifty thing we call paid leave.

you realize merc work is illegal under international law and will usually result in a lose of citizenship if you are caught (not to mention earn you a wee li'l prison term and/or exicusion).  but meh...

also note: M-16a2 fire 800 rounds per min, BUT their magazines only carry 20 or 30 rounds. now, let's do some quick math.  
800 rounds/60sec =  13.333 rounds/sec.  
20 rounds / 13.333 rounds/ sec = 1.5 sec
30 rounds / 13.3333 rounds / sec = 2.25 sec

a water hose this is not.  That said, AK-47's, AK-74's, and uzi's can't shoot for much longer.  If you want a gun that'll fire a long time in automatic mode your going to want a belt fed gun.  Unifortunately, you pretty much have to mount those and have a couple people or some fancy machinery to work them.  But who says this needs to be realistic, you could always have an enchanted magazine or something.  ;)
M-16's also have a reputation for breaking down.  AK-47's are much more reliable, easier to fix, and cheaper (about $50 in most places where you'd want to have one).
also G3 is more of a sniper gun. slow rate of fire, but quality over quantity.
 

Where'd you hear this stuff about M-16s being more reliable than AKs? Besides, M-16s are issue weaponry for most modern-day military, like the U.S. Army.

Also, 2.25 seconds of sustained fire? That's a good bit. You gotta think, each one of these bullets has a chance of being fatal, or at the very least crippling. Head and chest or stomach shots are rarely survived.

And who said Aaron was doing merc work? Spec-Ops is not read Mercs, it's read like the U.S. Navy SEALS and stuff.

Okay a few point while were on this idiotic debate (me and my 'oh hey you might want to convert that M16 crap talking look what it gets me).

First of all, since when has an activity's illegality stopped anyone from actually doing it? After every war (read real war, not these little bush fire engagements we fight these days) there is always a surplus of soldiers who would like to keep working/eating and so frequently move onto another conflict to continue being employed.

Additionally I doubt Aaron is going to be on paid leave for the next eight weeks worth of rps adventures, we're going to be jet-setting, getting around the world stimpoing bad guys. He's going to need to be independant. (That and I don't want you calling on a horde of army buddies whenever things get rough, you're supposed to do this cr@p on your own people).

Secondly on the topic of belt-fed weaponry. Have you seen Black Hawk Down yet?
Every infantry section in the world has at least one belt-fed section-support machinegun (called a General-Purpose MachineGun) they usual weigh in at around ten kilograms unloaded and in NATO nations fire the 7.62mmx51 Nato standard rifle cartridge. Just down from that is the popular FN Minimi (called the M249 SAW in the US which fires the standard Assault Rifle round oif 5.56mmx45, this is also belt-fed. These weapons can be effectively used by one soldier and do not need to be mounted on anything, though for real sustained fire you'll want to at least unfold the bipod.
Both of these weapons have a fire rate of: 550 and 750 rounds per minute respectively.

And yes, the M16 is a piece of crap. Any weapon that takes fifteen years before it can be used without risk of getting it's user killed cannot be referred to by any other title. Colonel David Hackworth, considered to be the greatest warrior America ever produced got to test the M16 way back when it was being trialed by the Air Force as a survival weapon. He fired under all conditions, wet, dry, dirty, clean, hot weather, cold weather, you name it, and he came back with two words to describe it's performance. It Jams.

Now the AK on the other hand has always been recieved favourably by soldiers from around the world. Just goes to show you what a weapons manufactuer can do when they're not concerned with maintianing market prospects or other capitalist crap like that.

And finally name me one other country that issues the M16 in large numbers outside of the US and Canada and I'll be very surprised.

Also, AKs are SIXTY YEARS OLD. They aren't modern. Sure, they're cheap and effective, but my guy is Spec-Ops. Also,  I have a variety of things I can use to separate Aaron from his squad.

Yet another testament to how effective they are as weapons. Guaranteed that when you pull the trigger the weapon fires. A track record the forty-year old M16 can't even fantasise about. Why do you think so many countries adopted variants of it and continue to field them to this day with only minor modifications while the M16A2 has had to be extensively worked over?

But yeah, Aaron is special forces and listed as an especially good riflemen even amongst that lot. So regardless of what he carries he can score a lethal hit at clear over three hundred metres without an optical scope.

So we'll give him an M16A2 converted to fire fully-automatic and we'll consider the debate closed.

And yeah, having thought it over I'm willing to accept Aaron as a currently serving spec ops trooper. So we'll consider that one closed as well.

Wish I could have posted them, but there was something wrong with the copying and I didn't get it all. Oh well, maybe next time... :(  

Yes, you're more than welcome to copy and paste for future RP sessions. It saves me the time of having to edit everything.

The only thing about you posting them is that you need to do the following as well:

- Indicate who played as who.
- Bold the DM's comments
- Remove the OOC comments (those in brackets, unless they help to enhance one's understanding of the plot.
- Italize the actions
- Add spaces to make it more readable.

As you can see, it's hard work, but it's an honest way to earn postcounts.

As for the bloopers: is what I did (take out trivial lines and get rid of text garbage) the way to post those, too?

Yes, except it'll be more readable to take out lines like "Person A is now known as Person B" or "Person C has entered the Hero6_chat". Those usually aren't needed unless they're part of the joke.

The thing about bloopers is that it's better to post those after the transcripts are out, so that others can read those first, and then understand the joke.

No, the robot was Ignus. Apparently, Dray made those out of something or other. Personally, I was going for a more literal interpretation of Modern Day, with Magic being a fading art. Extinct in some places, illegal in others.

I'm pretty sure the robot remained in Jigen's control throughout the session (since he started off controlling them), I could be wrong though.

Just curious, who is Miros? At first I thought you meant Minos, but Minos is, you know, dead.

He's just an unknown but powerful figure at the moment. We don't know anything about him either, except that he sent agents to do his bidding. Whether he'll make an appearance in the story hasn't been decided on yet.

That's a different Miros. I couldn't think up a more original name at that time, and I was thinking, "it's just going to be a trial run, so it's ok".

No, it's not.  Stop stealing names.

As I said, this was for the trial RP, one which I wasn't even intending to continue initially, and I had to come up with a name on the spot at that time. That name was the first thing that came to mind. As far as I know, there are instances where more than one character can have the same name. Names are not usually unique on their own. Please don't accuse me of stealing names. Nothing much about this character has been decided on at this point, so that might even be a false name, or an alias for all we know, and a proper name can be given later.

Just for the heck of it, I did a google on the word "Miros". It just so happens to be a real name for some people. Cami R. Miros, Jane Miros, Chris Miros, and Volker Miros are among some of them, to name a few. This name isn't unique, and my using it is not stealing as long as this character remains distinct from Herocia's Miros.

Swift, it was more of a tongue and cheek statement referencing the past times you grabbed a fantasy name a from some other work of fantasy.

1. Humour doesn't always translate well online. What you said appeared to be hostile.
2. The first time it was done, I had checked you and Brass about it and there weren't any objections. The second time was done subconsciously and I wasn't aware of it until after reading the manual several months later.

Miros is from the Greek language, and for Herocia's Miros is his first name and the only name we know him by. So the fact that other real people have the last name of Miros isn't an issue. We don't exactly have a copyright on his name, however due to the fact that people from Herocia are involved in the RPS it did get rather confusing.

If you want to use the name Miros for a bad guy elsewhere it would be nice to distinguish him/her from Herocia's Miros. Maybe change a letter, or have a different first name, or different last name, etc. Just something so that when I see the word "Miros" I don't go "wtf, what does Miros have to do with this, are they talking about Herocia in here?"

Brass, I've thought up a possible idea I might use for that Miros problem, but for now he's not going to be mentioned in the story unless it's needed, since he didn't even physically enter the story at any point.

Corsair, you never seem to run out of characters, do you. :) Anyway, your character is fine, and would fit nicely in the current RP, though I have to wonder why you listed a spell which your character doesn't have.

"Arcana Delu Calim Thalifas *Not Learned* *Causes a bolt of energy to strike a single target, draining the target of all magical power, then returns to Markas, restoring his magical power. This can kill magical creatures like Faeries.*

Also, this spell sounds too powerful. If you're seriously planning to use at some point in the story, some restrictions have to be imposed.


Paladin0707077, nice to see that you'll be joining in. I would classify your character as a multiclass character since stealth is not a wizard ability, and kobolds are not known to be stealthy creatures, methinks. This also means that as a multiclass character, you do have a bit too many spells. Please cut down your spell list by two. Oh, and two other things about some of the spells in your spell list that needs to be mentioned.


"*Meditate: creates a bubble of safety around him where none can harm him, save for the most powerful of magics, or holy weapons. While this spell is cast, he falls into a deep trance, which allows him to restore his mana, and is unable to do anything else until it is fully restored. If his mana is completely drained, it will take 5 hours to recharge."

Are there any restrictions to this spell? Like can he cast that during battle? If he can, it's not allowed in this RP.


"*Small Mind (Not Learned): Able to peer into a target's mind for 1 minute. While there, he can either observe, cause him to make a mistake (+1 mana), force him to make an action of his own chosing (+2 mana), or destroy his mind completely (+4 mana)."

This is another spell which I would classify as a very powerful spell, and to spend 4 mana points to completely destroy a mind is far too cheap. It takes a lot of concentration to peer into one's mind, let alone force him to do anything against his will. I'm afraid you'll have to add restrictions to this spell if your character's going to gain this ability anytime soon.


To everyone: Ok, here's the deal about making characters. Having characters equipped with abilities to handle any situation as well as to take out enemies quickly tends to make the game less fun, simply because the challenge to survive or to complete the quests would be reduced or completely gone. Where's the fun in that? It's like having a level 20 character walk into a monster-infested dungeon that's meant for level 1 characters to kill. It can get boring quickly.

When you pick skills or spells for your character, think of what sort of character you're making, and whether you plan on specialising. For instance, my character is mainly a water and ice mage, and so you don't see any fire or lightning spells in her spells list, and having a few powerful spells like Mass Teleport meant sacrificing on useful spells like Protection and Aura. No one can be good at everything.

That isn't to say that you can't have powerful spells like Death Magic. Powerful spells are allowed in this game, but they have to be reasonable. For example, a death spell is such that the target must make a will save to avoid instant death, and the more powerful the target is, the less likely he'll be killed by it. Some are even immune to such spells. This is one way of making sure a powerful spell doesn't give any one player an unfair advantage over another.

Arcana Delu Calim Thalifas (Bit of a mouthful?) I have a little sideplot for. The idea is that when cast, the ray drains the target, then returns to Markas. However, when used in the presence of demons, the ray will drain ALL their magic. That kills the demon, but the amount of mana in the ray, whne returned to Markas, will overload his brain, firing every nerve in his body and rapidly speeding his heart. This, in turn, will pump boiling blood through his veins, burning him alive from the inside out. Oh, and, the place where I intend for him to find the scroll is in the middle of the Still-demonic stronghold of the Lost City.

It's a suicide spell, essentially.

Also, what's wrong with his meditation ability? He falls asleep on the battlefield. The bubble may make him invulnerable, but he can't do anything.

Also, I won't be able to make it this friday. Going to go see SW3.

Suppose you and him were to spar, and the only way to win is by total elimination. The moment he's losing, he casts this spell so you can't hurt him anymore. So while he sleeps rather peacefully during battle, you're outside waiting for him to finish his thing because you can't win as long as he's not eliminated. And then five hours later, while you're somewhat exhausted from all that waiting, he's recharged and ready for battle. Even if say you're somehow just as charged up as he is when his spell is over, the fact that he can cast his spell over and over again would mean that he can simply retreat into that bubble whenever he's losing. It's a cheap way to do things, and I really hope he didn't have that in mind when creating this spell. Personally, I don't see the need for this spell. RIP would be a better spell, since you can't possibly cast that during battle.

As for your draining magic spell, you'll need to put more restrictions for that. It shouldn't  be able to affect every creature.

Well, the creature has to either be a wizard or be a creature of magic. Certain creatures will have too MUCH magic and kill him. Others won't be effected. Also, the thing literally takes no mana to cast. He can only cast it when his mana is low, otherwise his reserves will burst, throwing him into a coma or possibly even killing him. Also, wizards wil not be killed by it, simply drained. In fact, that's why he hasn't been taught the spell yet. No one uses it because it's almost as dangerous to the user as thermonuclear blast.

Corsair, your arcane missiles's damage seems too powerful, and it has the same name as my arcane missiles. Either lower the damage done, or add restrictions please. Please rename that spell too.

How about this for the Mind Attack spell: Basically requires 5 minutes of concentration to do it, and anything other then "Read his mind" will mean a Will-Save for the target. Two Will-Saves for "Destroy Mind".

I'll have to take that under advisement, but it still looks too powerful.

The 'destroy mind' part of your spell, Paladin0707077, what does that mean? Is that an instant death spell, or a 'turning someone insane' spell? Well, either way, it does sound too powerful still, and needs to be balanced out first. I'd suggest removing the 'destroy' part completely and simply sticking to 'attempting to control his actions'.

I thought you said Death Magic was okay, though? I'll change Arcane Missiles around, though.

Death magic is ok only if you balance it out so that no one player has any unfair advantage over another. Read my words carefully. Your spell at the moment does not seem to have any restrictions.

Alright, the spell to "Destroy Mind" shall be replaced with "Forget me", which causes one memory of choice to be destroyed. 2 save throws required. costs 14 mana.

Alright. I'll allow that. :)

So what about Meditate? Are there any restrictions for this spell?

Paladin0707077, ok, I'll accept that. Now the one last thing that needs to be addressed is your spell list. For a multiclassed character, you have a bit too many spells. You can either ditch the sneaking ability so that you can keep your spells, or remove one spell you don't need.

Corsair, have you changed your arcane missiles spell yet?

I changed the class of my guy into something a little more inspired. And before you say being able to summon the powers of fire is unfair, well, the spells don't tap into mana. They tap into his health. So he can kill himself with spells.

It's comments like that Corsair that tells me you don't quite understand what an overpowered character is. There is nothing wrong with being able to summon fire. It's how you *use* those powers and whether there are any restrictions that determine what's acceptable and what isn't. For instance, if your flame ability is capable of wiping out an entire army in an instant, and there's no way to escape that sort of fate, then yes, it's unacceptable. Your character is fine, and I'll accept it.

Technically, my guy COULD do that now, but he would be consumed, and so would everyone within about a hundred meters from him.

And, just to make it clear, Shaper is a subset of Mage. My guy CANNOT use Arcane, Wind, Water, or Earth spells. So no teleportation, flying, feather fall, Summon Cheese...etc. Just so you know.  

Hmmm...wasn't Wizard the "General-trained" magic class of QFG and Magician / Sorcerer the "Specialized" categories? So wouldn't Shaper be a subset of the Wizard category?

OK, Stealth's gone. Only did that to coincide with his history anyway. We can say the Hero was too dazed to notice his clumsy attempts to follow.

...Wizard, Mage, same thing. I always considered Mage/Magic User to be what you are before WIT pronounces you a Wizard. Since my guy chose to, instead of furthering his knowledge along the more conventional path, he devoted himself to controlling a single element. Hmm..this sounds pretty cool..I think I might write up a little sidestory about this.

If you were following someone with magic, and the other guy knew enough about magic, couldn't they track you by the spells that you cast?

Well, he wanted to kill of night anyway. I say we just have him rush the big bad guy, and they both topple into a chasm or something climactic like that. I think Markas will get mobbed by Vampires or something and slain.

By the time he comes back (or if), we would have started a new story. Anyway, I'd rather his character remains alive in case he wishes to use it again next time.
